I'm surprised to see so many people needing grades over 100% to pass classes, or people actually celebrating that they got a D. People are so short sighted, and they don't plan ahead to college and beyond. Many people think that "C's get degrees", and that they do, but why not get better degrees with better grades. What happened to the world that caused so much people to strive for mediocrity?

I have a two finals coming up, a lab exam and a written exam. The class is split up by categories: Assignments 14%, Written Exams 40%, Participation 01%, Lab Exams 30%, and Final Written Exam 15%. I have an 81.26% in the class and want to stay above an 80%. My overall category percentages are Assignments- 89.39%, Written 73.89%, Participation 100%, Lab Exams (missing the final one) 86.67%. I am wondering what I need on the final Lab exam and the Final Written Exam to stay above the 80%. Thank you

Roger: Are each of your lab exams worth the same amount? And how many lab exams have you taken? Let’s assume that they’re all worth the same amount and that you’ve taken 3 lab exams so far. In that case, you’d need to average at least a 77.5% on the final lab exam and final written exam to get an 80% overall. Hope this helps!

With the lowest test grade and 3 lowest quiz grades dropped I have an overall 71% on exams and an overall 81% on quizzes.

The percentages are as follows
Exams count for 60% of overall grade
quizzes count for 20% of overall grade
and the final counts for 20% of overall grade

Roger: So, it seems like you’ve listed your percentage grade in Column 1 and your point score in Column 2. So, your grades would actually be 138.6/182, 136/200, 265/280, 207/210, 118.5/120 (this last row doesn’t quite make sense, since 118.5/120 is 98.75%, not 98.57%). Anyway, that would make your current overall grade a 87.2%. If you got an extra 20 points added to your grade, it would go up to a 89.2%. Hope this helps!

okay so i have two parts to my final, it's a culmative, (i don't have an exam)
altogether, both parts are worth 30% of my final mark (so i think each is worth 15%)

I needed a 45 to pass Science with a 50, and I was sweating balls trying to get that.
How the hell did I end up with a 56.

I really wanted an A in my geometry class. I have a 91, but there are 5 assignments that I need to submit. If I get 100% on all of them (which I likely will, they are very easy), then I will have a 92% in the class, and I got a 75% on the midterm, which means I will get an 89.45% in the class, which gets rounded up to an 89.5%, which gets rounded up to a 90%!!!!

What i need to get in each of my classes to pass with a 60% (for degree requirements):

Even though these are really good, I'm still really stressed because I want to go to medical school (preferably a good one). I hope that I get good grades on my finals so my GPA can be super high.
