Things to know for the exam:

Label the phases of mitosis and meiosis by looking at a picture
The difference between haploid (found in gametes) and diploid (found in somatic cells)

Crossing over leads to genetic variability (differences in genes) and it occurs in prophase 1.
The purpose of mitosis:
Regenerate after injury
Replace old cells
The purpose of meiosis:
Make 4 genetically unique sex cells
Bacteria undergoes binary fission, which is asexual reproduction
Interphase and cytokinesis are NOT part of mitosis, they are the ‘before’ and ‘after’
Interphase has 3 parts: g1, s, and g2 (know what occurs during each)
Two kinds of cytokinesis:
Animal cell- cleavage furrow
Plant cell- cell plate
Know how to label the exact diagram of DNA that we worked in in class
AT2, CG3
Purines has 2 rings (marriage) and babies are PURE (they say ‘GAGA’)

Roger: If your tests are 100 points each, but your final is 200 points, then your final is worth as much as 2 tests. Does that make sense?
