No your grades aren't a measure of how hard you worked. Grades are a fundamentally subjective and arbitrary measure, as two students taking the same class with different teachers can have very different experiences in said class. One class might be grade inflation, the other might be extremely challenging. Different schools have very different standards for grades. "Grades are important for your future" is an incredibly stupid argument. Obviously it's bad to get bad grades, but the real predictor of economic success as an adult isn't what college you go to, it's whether or not you go to college. Also there's much more to life than being a hack and sellout who prioritizes grades above all else and abandons all compassion, empathy, and morals

I don't get those people saying that your grade doesn't reflect who you are and how it doesn't really matter, It does reflect you, and how hard you worked this year. Also grades are basically your only job when your taking school, and are important for your future. Sugar coating your failure doesn't help you.
