test #1 - score 76% which is 40% of total grade
test #2- score 80% which is 40% of total grade
test # 3 - score 96 which is 20% of total grade

How do I calculate this?

Roger: Your final grade should be 76%×40% + 80%×40% + 96%×20%, which is 81.6%.

So I just bombed my Unit 1 test with a 40%. Tests are 50% of my grade. My grade in the class is a 91. Would you be able to tell me what my grade would be after the test score is put in?

Roger: It depends on whether you’ve taken any other tests and whether you have any empty categories in your grade. Assuming no for both, your grade should drop to 65.5%.

Hey Roger! My module is made up of 4 different components.

40% = B
25% = A
5% = A
30% = B+

Would my overall grade be B or B+?

Roger: It’s hard to say for sure, but probably a B+?

Hey Roger, so I have a 81% on my math mark right now. My final is worth 30 percent. If I got a 0 on the exam, how much would my final mark be?

Roger: Your final mark should be 56.7%.

If the instructor is putting 130 questions on a 100 point exam how do I figure out how many I can miss and still get a 65%? I need at least that to pass entire class

Roger: Well, 65% of 130 is 84.5. Is that what you meant?

Hey Roger can you please do a big favor to me and make a online calculator on how to figure out your projected GPA based on credits you taken previously and the GPA you believe you will get in the current semester.

Thank you,

Roger: Thanks for the suggestion! There’s multiple different ways to calculate GPA, because the definition varies from institution to institution. A calculator could offer options for the most popular methods, but I feel like that makes it too easy to accidentally use the wrong method and end up with an incorrect answer.

This is fine

Hey , I have a GPA of 86.70 and my final exam is 20% . I wanted to know what grade can I get on my final so I can at least still be with a B in the class ?!

Roger: You’ll need to score at least a 53.2% on your final to get a 80% overall.

Final and midterm combined are worth 50% of total grade. Got 15/50 on midterm and current average in the class 92%. What do I need to get on final to pass the class with (70-76)

Roger: Does that mean your midterm is currently worth 50% of your grade by itself? Also, try out the calculator mode labeled “I need something else”. It should be able to answer your question.

My course has 2 components: Theory and Math. Theory is worth 85% and I need a 50 in this component to pass. Math is worth 15% and I need a 70 in this component to pass. My grades are thus:

Theory 1 - 14.42/20 = 72.09%
Theory 2 - 18.4/20 = 92%
Theory 3 - 13.6/20 = 68%
Theory test 4 is worth 25% - Yet to be written

Math 1 - 3.5/5 = 70%
Math 2 - 4.5/5 = 90
Math 3 is worth 5% and has yet to be written

My questions are this: What do I need to get on the theory component to pass with the 50% needed?
What do I need to get on the math component to pass with the 70% needed ?

If I wished to pass with an overall grade of 80% what would I need to get on each component to do so? (not as important just curious)

Roger: You’ll need to score at least −15.68% (yes, that’s negative) on your 4th theory test to get a 50% in your theory component. You’ll need to score at least a 50% on your 3rd “math” to get a 70% in your math component. To get a 70% overall, you’ll need to average at least a 51.9% on your 4th theory test and your 3rd “math”.

Hi! I have 4 categories plus extra credit.
Exams grades= 94.07% & worth 40%
Quizzes grades= 96.24% & worth 20%
Attendance grade= 90% & worth 15%
I haven't taken my final yet but it's worth 25%
And I have 25 extra credit points, but will add 2.5% to my overall grade.
What do I need on my final to get a 90% overall? Thank you!

Roger: Your current overall grade should be a 96.3%. You’ll need to score at least a 68.5% on your final to get a 90% overall.

Was sitting at 64%. Took a quiz worth 15% got 90% on that quiz, what is my current grade at. Then, my final is worth 40% and I need a minimum of 70%. What do I need to pass?

The quiz itself was worth 15%

Roger: Assuming that your quiz and final are the only two remaining things that will go into your grade, your current overall grade should be a 70.5%. You’ll need to score at least a 69.25% on your final to get a 70% overall.

hi! I have a 53 in my calculus class, my final is worth 40% of my grade and ive already taken 4 exams also worth 40%. I need atleast a D, (60%), to receive credit for the course. my professor will replace my lowest test grade with the grade i receive on my final if its higher. What do i need to make on my final to get at least a 60% in the class?

Roger: It depends on what your lowest test grade was. Try out the calculator mode labeled “I need something else”. It should be able to answer your question.

My test grades are 74,79, and 70 and they are worth 65%. I got 6.5% on my homework.
How much do I need to get on the final (worth 25%) to get a C and/or a B?

Roger: I assume you meant that your homework grade is 6.5/10, which is 65% not 6.5%. In that case, you’ll need to score at least a 65.8% on your final to get a 70% overall. If you want an 80% overall instead, you’ll need to score at least a 105.8% on your final.

So in a math course I'm thinking of taking it is a combined 1200 points. Test/quizzes are 240, Midterm is 480 and the Final is 480. I need a combined average of 60% on the midterm and final. What is the lowest score I get to meet the 60% average?

Thanks!

Roger: Well, 60% of 480 is 288. So, I suppose you’ll need to get 576 out of 960 points (or 288 out of 480 on each)?

i deal w/ stress by just giving myself time to relax.

anything to get your mind off the topic that causing you stress.

sometimes i have a good stress-cry and when i calm down. i feel loads better.

and just remember that ultimately, almost nothing you do will have a giant impact on the universe because we're such trivial insects compared to the vast universe. so, it doesn't matter if you slip-up a bit or fail a class. you'll move forward and stress doesn't define you.

Students who need an online calculator to determine the grade they need to pass should not be in college. This task requires sixth grade arithmetic.
