If my grade is 91% and my test is worth 15% of my grade, then what would I have to make for me to get a 94% overall?

Roger: What’s the other 85% of your grade made of? Raising your grade to 94% with just a single test may be too ambitious.

Wed, 02 Oct 2019 19:35:33 GMT

hey roger, im having a really bad day i just got a 16% on my math test and it is going to destroy my grade:)))

Roger: Sorry to hear that. How many more tests do you have left?

Wed, 02 Oct 2019 19:28:48 GMT

I have a 84% in math and I took a test and got a 16%, how much will that drop my grade?

Roger: It depends on how much your test is worth.

Roger: How much is your midterm worth?

Wed, 02 Oct 2019 04:26:32 GMT

my hmw is worth 27%, tests worth 63%, and final 10%. i have a 93.9% in hmw and 88% in tests. what is my grade? ( i took out my lowest test and hmw bc our teacher does that)

Roger: Your current overall grade should be 89.77%.

So I have a 57.68 in my Advanced English class right now and grades are due by FRIDAY. I have an essay, a test, and a homework assignment. The homework assignment is worth 30 points, so if I make a 105 (from bonus points) on it, what will that bring my grade up to?

Roger: Try out the calculator mode labeled “I need something else”. It may be able to answer your question.

protip from a souless high school senior for y'all:

try your best at the beginning of the year with all your assignments now. that way later your final grade won't be entirely dependent on what you get on your exams. terrible advice in general but very helpful for any fellow procrastinators/lazy people out there that don't study (you should but now i sound like a hypocrite).

also i'm starting to apply for college now roger. can i get some of your luck¿ i promise i'll give it back (in a few years).

Roger: Good luck!

I got a 70 on my first exam after studying for a month, a huge review, and almost a thousand flash joke. Should I drop this course or should I try it out until the 2nd exam? Please advise.

Roger: 70 is a passing grade, isn’t it?

Mon, 30 Sep 2019 01:29:34 GMT

Hey Roger! I neeeeeedddddd your help! I have a 64.16% average in my advanced math class :(. I'm not really a good test taker but our test is worth 20% of our grade and our quizzes are worth 25%. I want to get a 90 or above, so what should i do? Also what grade willi have?

Roger: Your quizzes are worth more than your tests? That’s strange. Are you talking about a single test? Or your entire “tests” category? What are the other categories in your grade? Are you planning to get a 90% or above on your test? Or do you want 90% or above as your overall grade?

i have a 52.86 in math right now, when she puts in a 100 for a silver grade and an 85 for a gold grade, what would that bring my grade up to?

Roger: I’m unfamiliar with what a “silver grade” or “gold grade” is.

Fri, 27 Sep 2019 17:40:31 GMT

So all my grades are weighted equally like ALL OF THEM and my average is a 63 - (66,66, 46,68) from four exams and I have at leaf 4 more exams , so how high do I have to score to make at least a 80

Roger: If you have 4 more exams, you’ll need to average at least a 97% on them to raise your 63% average to an 80%. By the way, the average of 66, 66, 46, and 68 is 61.5, but I ignored this discrepancy.

Thu, 26 Sep 2019 18:11:02 GMT

what i meant by quizzes are 10% is that it is a category worth 10% not each quiz being worth 10%

Roger: Makes sense. I replied to your comment below.

Quizzes are worth 10% of my grade. I have an average of 92 (90 and 94) and 5 extra credit points will be added to one of the quizzes. Will i be able to get my 87 up to an 88?

Roger: How much do those 5 extra credit points help your quiz score? I suppose it depends on how many points each quiz is worth. It seems unlikely for extra credit added to a category worth only 10% of your grade to improve your overall grade by a whole percentage point. But the exact answer depends on how those 5 extra credit points affect your quiz grade and whether you have any empty categories in your current grade.

Helppp. My grade is currently a 77.28 (it was an F last week) and there's 2 more weeks left of the quarter. If I get a B my mom's disowning me frfr. We only have finals and this big vocabulary test (I can pass the vocab test) but IDK about finals. WHAT DO I DOOOO

Tue, 24 Sep 2019 00:16:53 GMT

Hey roger i just took like 3 test last week and i would like to know if i made an 40% on my first test and we have 3 more exams and a final it’s worth 400 exam point what do i need on my other test to get an average of an B or C ?

How do you calculate this so i can also find out what i need on my tests in my other classes? Thank you

Roger: So, you made 40% on your first test, but you took 3 tests last week. What did you score on those other two tests? Do you have any other tests from before last week? Try out the calculator mode labeled “I need something else”. It should be able to answer your question.

Mon, 23 Sep 2019 17:46:05 GMT

yes ha haha

Mon, 23 Sep 2019 15:14:49 GMT

I am confused. My grade is a 97 and I want it to be an 100, but our final is in two weeks. Do I have enough time? And if I do, what do I have to make to pull it up? Our final is graded as a test grade.

Roger: How many tests have you taken so far? And what did you score on them? If you have extra credit on your final, then it may be possible to raise your overall grade to 100%. Also, try out the calculator mode labeled “My final counts as a test” or the mode labeled “I need something else”. Both of those should be able to answer your question.

Mon, 23 Sep 2019 05:22:58 GMT

Hi Roger,

I have multiple assessments left before my final exam, each with a different weight. I'm trying to find out the minimum respective marks I would have to get on each of these to achieve a year grade of 80%. My current grade is 60.4 and the upcoming assignments are worth 7%, 8%, 7% and the exam, worth 25%. If you could help me figure this out it would be amazing.

Roger: So, you have 3 more assignments plus 1 exam. In order to figure out what you need to score on them, you should treat those 4 things as if they were combined into one big exam that was worth 7% + 8% + 7% + 25% (which is 47%) of your grade. The minimum you need to score on a particular assignment or exam depends on what you score on the other ones, so there is no single answer. But by combining those 4 things into one, you can calculate that you need to average at least 102.1% on your 3 assignments and your exam to raise your overall grade to a 80%.

Hi, I have two problems. One of my grades is 89.67 and I have just turned in an assignment and done a test. It's worth 70 percent of my grade
Also I have 91.4 and I took a test and got 94 What would I have if it is worth 30 percent. my grades aren't as bad as other people, but I can't let it stay at a B :(

Roger: Are you saying that 70% of your grade is made up of just 1 assignment and 1 test? Or is there a whole category of grades that, including your assignment and test, is altogether worth 70% of your grade? In the latter case, it depends on what the other things in that category are, how much they’re worth, and what you scored on them.

Fri, 20 Sep 2019 15:31:39 GMT

im dead help i have a 39 and i took a test and guess what? i got a F 50 percent. ah it sucks to be me :)

Fri, 20 Sep 2019 15:13:35 GMT

hey roger... i just took my 2nd ap euro test and here are the weights

all quizzes, tests, and assignments are 85% of my grade

the final exam is 15% of my grade

I have 5 more tests this semester so what would i need to get on these tests to at least get a 90 in that class?

Roger: It depends on how much those 5 tests are worth. Try out the calculator mode labeled “I need something else”. It may be able to help.

i have a 72 in my ela class and i failed a test i made an 8 on it what will be my grade

Roger: How much is your test worth?

Fri, 20 Sep 2019 08:58:00 GMT

currently have 79.59 % going into final exam tmr. Final is weighted 40% and cumulative. Need 55.6% to pass the class.

Roger, do have anything to say what the odds are of a 79.59% test average dropping down to 55.6% for he who slacked off this last week. I'm sure there is calc somewhere that can assign a probability

Roger: That seems very unlikely, but you’ll need some kind of probability distribution for your expected final exam score in order to calculate the probability of passing the class.

Fri, 20 Sep 2019 00:28:56 GMT

Why is everyone here, its not even near finals time lmao

Thu, 19 Sep 2019 22:51:16 GMT

So my grade is 80 before the test and I got a 60 on the test how much did that bring my grade down. If I do 2 homework assignments worth 15% of my grade and get a 100 on both, how many points does that bring my grade up?

Roger: It depends on how much your tests and homework assignments are worth.

Thu, 19 Sep 2019 16:08:51 GMT

I took my first bio test and I made a 56, it's the only grade so far. it's worth 13.5% of my final grade. what is my grade currently? (we start at 100% and our grade goes down). can I still make an A in the class?

Roger: I’m not sure what you mean by “we start at 100%”. By all rights, your grade should be 56%, since it’s the only thing in your grade so far. I suppose you could argue that your grade is 100% minus the points you’ve lost so far (100% − 56%) × 13.5%, which is 5.94%. That would make your overall grade 94.06%. But that interpretation is kind of silly.

I had a 93 in my class witch is 60% of my grade I didn’t do a test witch is 10% what should my grade be ?

Roger: Your grade should drop to a 79.7%, I suppose? I think there are some ambiguities in the way you stated your question.

Thu, 19 Sep 2019 03:41:18 GMT

Hey Roger, in my calc class he grades it as the following:

quiz 1: 1% .. I scored 100%
homework: 15%.... I will get 97%
exam 1, 2, 3, 4: each exam is worth 17% of grade
exam reviews: 16%... I will get 100%

What do I need to pass my calc class? Passing grade is 67%

Roger: You’ll need to average at least a 52.1% on your 4 exams to get a 67% overall.

Thu, 19 Sep 2019 01:53:09 GMT

hey roger ! i need your help.
i currently have an 87.7 in my AP math class.
i missed a quiz last week and retakes are friday but i can’t go, and my teacher has said she’ll put in a zero.
the quiz is worth 10% of my grade.
so what’ll be my grade in her class with a 0 on a quiz?

Roger: Is the quiz worth 10% of your grade by itself? Or is it part of a “quizzes” category that, along with other quizzes, is altogether worth 10% of your grade? What’s the other 90% of your grade made of?

Wed, 18 Sep 2019 21:41:20 GMT

I have a 84% B in a micro biology class. My professor made us take a pre test that was worth 10% of our grade and I made a 56% F he is taking away the grade at mid term. What would my grade be right now if he took away the 56?

Roger: It depends on how much of your coursework you’ve completed so far. For example, if your “84%” overall grade represents 40% of your overall grade, then your overall grade would be a 93.3% if you removed the 56% “pre test” grade.

Roger: Does your “70” grade already include your “90” test grade? What’s the other 95% of your grade made of?
