It says I need a -4% if I have a 90 in class and its worth 22 percent of my grades to get a 70. But wouldn't a 0 on the test result in a 90-22=68?

Roger: Good question. Actually, “90 − 22” is the wrong approach. If you get a zero on 22% of your grade, that means your grade is reduced to 1 − 22% of its original value. So, you should do 90 × (1 − 22%) instead, which is 70.2%.
