I look forward to never using this site again. Not a single comment on here matters, not much matters in the great scope of things. These finals won't matter all that much. I have anxiety. Usually. But this year I have felt nothing. I am disturbingly blank. There's no rush to get things done, no thrill to learn and compete. I just want to be done. I'm a senior at Neuqua Valley. We're bred like golden labs for competition. I just want to feel happy, healthy, and at peace. High school is simply not the environment for this kind of evolution. I can't wait to move to Europe, to leave the American education system and actually get to enjoy the things that truly matter, like family, love, culture, friends, and new experiences. We spend soooo much time rotting away in a classroom. Why? Why? I learn more from a book than I do from a month of school. I just want to be outside and learn from the real world. Who knows? Maybe my youth equates to foolishness. I know nothing yet. But that's okay, and it's rather thrilling, in my opinion. Just one more semester of this nonsense. Just one more semester of staring at clocks, tapping my foot erratically as the last few minutes of each classroom pass by slowly as ever, and just one more semester of jumping through hoops like the good little golden retriever I was designed to be.
Roger: If only schools could actually convince people to read books.
