Since your goal is higher than the last test AND your current mark (90>88>84) you would need over a 90 on your final regardless.

I have an 88%
the Final is worth 30%
If I do better on the final than my last test, my final score replaces my last test score
For example, If I get a 80 on my last test and a 90 on the final, both grades are 90s.
if the final is lower than the last test score it does not affect it.

My last test was an 84% and is worth 20%

what do i need to get to get a 90?

Roger: Has your last test been factored into your grade already? If not, you’ll need at least a 92% on the final exam. If so, you’ll need at least a 90.4% on the final exam. Also, if you have a more accurate number for your current grade, that would be useful. For example, do you have an 88.5% or a 88.1% or a 88.9%?

Roger: Great. But I still need to know how many points your 6 exams are worth. In order to get an A (90%), you’ll need to get at least 2325.8 points in your Exams category. Since, you currently have 911 points, you’ll need 1414.8 more to reach the A. In order to get a B (80%), you’ll need to get at least 1860.7 points in the category, which is 949.7 more than how many you currently have. So, with the information I have so far, I can tell you how many points you’ll need on your exams, but I can’t express that as a percentage without knowing how many total points those 6 exams are worth. Roger: Honestly, 20% isn’t much of an opportunity to improve a grade, but 20% can cause serious damage to your grade if you do poorly. Even if you get 100%, your grade will only rise to a 60.7%. (Good luck, anyway!)

Roger: Hmm... well in that case, you would need to average a 79.72% on the three parts of your final. For example, you could do slightly worse on one part and slightly better on another part, and you could still make your goal. A 79.72% would be a 64/80 or a 80/100, by the way.

Thanks so much for this website. I have a question. So, I currently have a 92.07 in the class and am hoping for an 89.6 (A in this class). We have an 80 point final, a 100 point final, and another 100 point final. I have not taken any of them yet. What is the lowest grade I can get on each of the finals in order to get a 89.6 in the class?

I really need all A's, but my honors geometry grade is an 88%. I have missing work so if i'm lucky, when I make it up, my grade will go up to 89%. If my grade goes go up, I need to get a 96 on my final, but if it doesn't, then I have to get 101. In other words, I'm so screwed!!
