What constantly annoys me are these Asian students posting their reasons why they should receive A's. "My Asian Parents are going to kill me" is not a valid reason why you should be receiving 'A' grades. You earn straight A's because you're motivated to learn, and you're willing to put all that effort into learning something that interests you. Sorry if you're asian parents are going to kill you because of your stupid 99.9%, but their your parents and they're going to love you with or without straight A's. If you're constantly afraid of them killing you for not getting straight A's and you have to endure countless nights of studying, doing homework, and also crying, then there's a bigger problem. Honey you don't know how to love yourself!!! Learn to love yourself so you can understand that I should't be afraid of my parents if they find out I have a B, because they're going to love me unconditionally. Look some kids out there are hated by their parents, or worse, kicked out because of their own sexual orientation. If you're looking at this comment, then you're probably alive, nurtured, and loved by your parents because they don't care about that damn B. They have to care because you tried working. Overall, not getting straight A's isn't the end of the world. There's ups and downs, but remember your grades don't define you as a person. If you want straight A's go ahead, but don't make your parents the reason why you want it. You want it because you love learning and becoming a better person. If you're already there and have straight A's, that's fantastic! Go be a role model and help your peers as well, they need the help, not to hear the boasting.

@bye I agree with u cuz while people are getting amazing, beautiful grades where they "only need an F" to pass their class, there are some who struggles just to maintain their B or C and honestly, ya'll need to just stop rubbing in and announcing that to the world, like no body cares. For example, some people may be a part of a bunch of many extracurriculars or they may even be working in multiple jobs and these can take up a lot of their own time which can detriment their grades and can even prevent them to sustain the grades they have. So c'mon, no one likes a show-off, so stfu. And about the stereotypes, simply put RACE DOES NOT DEFINE HOW "SMART" WE ARE. bye.

I totally agree with @bye. While I understand that many of you here are extremely proud of themselves for being able to essentially fail a final and still get a good grade, none of you guys need to brag about it. Sure, you may all have good grades, but there are plenty of people out here who are working extremely hard to even maintain a B or a C in certain classes because of their extra curricular activities. Yeah, you can get straight A's but colleges won't want you unless you prove that you're more than just good grades. And as @bye and @TheBigPicture have said, grades aren't something that should define you. Rather, it should be your personality and values. Anyways, please take into consideration those who are struggling to maintain their grades. There is no need for you to be bragging about your classes.

@bye, I totally agree. If you are doing well in a class, that's great, but that doesn't mean that you have to publicize it and make others feel bad about their own situation. Why can't people be humble about their achievements nowadays? Oh, and about that Asian thing, yeah that's pretty ridiculous. Grades are definitely important but they shouldn't define you. Also, by tying good grades to a particular ethnicity/race, you're just contributing to stereotyping (even though in this case it's good, but good stereotypes still have negative effects). Let's look at the bigger picture people.
