I was looking at my Chemistry grade today and it kind of confused me. I have the following percentages in each category:

Homework: 97.97 (10% grade)
Quizzes: 100 (10%)
Labs: 95.50 (20%)
Tests: 96.50 (40%)
Final Exam worth 20%, but I haven't taken it yet

But, somehow I have a 91.83% as my overall grade. Is this accurate if none of my other categories are that low? If not, what would be my overall grade?

Roger: I agree. Your overall grade should be a 96.9%.

Roger: If we assume you need a 70% overall to pass, then you’ll need to get at least a 86% on the EOC to pass.

I have an 83% in my class, we did an assignment and I didn't get to turn it in so I got a 0, this assignment is worth 15% of the class, and I still have my final that's worth 25% of my grade. What grade am I going to have after my assignment? And what do I need on my final to at least pass the class? Thank you!!

Roger: Your grade will drop to a 66.4%. In order to tell you what you need to get on the final to pass the class, I first need to know what overall percentage you need to pass your class. Can you provide that number?

Hi, I was wondering, if I have a 64% right now and have a quiz and a test left before the final, how close can I be to passing with a 70? I dont do well on the quizs and tests, I usually get a C or D.

Roger: It depends on how much that quiz and that test are worth.

This tool will determine what grade (percentage) you need on your final exam in order to get a certain grade in a class.

Your current grade is 0%.

You want (at least) a 1e1000% in the class.

Your final is worth 1e-99% of your grade.

You will need to score at least Infinity% on your final to get a Infinity% overall. Ouch, that sucks :/

I got a b+ in English coursework which is 60 percent of the grade, what do I need in the final exam for a C, ( 40% Final exam is worth )

Roger: Well, let’s say your B+ is actually an 88%. In order to get a 75% overall, you’d need to get at least a 55.5% on the final exam. Does that help?

So I have a 71 in science what should I have to get on my lab quizzes that are worth 100 points each to average a 83

Roger: It depends on how many points are in the class total. Also, what is your current lab quiz average? How many have you taken so far, and how many more will you take?

Angelia
Tue, 26 Apr 2016 16:54:23 GMT

My average in geometry is a D. But I passed the postest which means I dont have to take the final exam since I got an 81. I'm worried that once the final report card comes out, what my grade will look like. But if I pass the final exam, will that change my average to a C or maybe higher?

Roger: It depends on how much your test was worth. Also, it depends on exactly what percentage you had in the class before the test. You said your average was a D, but what percentage is that?

Hey Roger!

I was wondering which language you think would be the best for someone just starting to learn programming?

Roger: If you’re learning to get a foundation in computer science, I’d recommend learning Python with this online course. But you might be learning programming for a different reason. If you want to make websites, you can get started very quickly with just HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. If you want to make iOS apps, learn Objective C. For Android, learn Java. If you’re interested in hardware programming, learn Python and C. For scientific computing and research, Python would be a good choice.

I need a 76% average for my exams. If exam 1 is 10% and I got 69%, exam 2 is worth 20% and I got 84%, and the final is worth 25%, what do I need on the final to make the 76% exam average?

Roger: You’ll need to get at least a 72.4% on the final exam to have a 76% exam average.

Mon, 25 Apr 2016 05:34:03 GMT

My class is based on a point system. How do I calculate what I need to get on the final to get a certain grade? For example, I have a 94.89% and to get an A in this class you need at least a 90%. There are 1910 points in the grade book so far, without the final. Let's say the final is worth 500 points. What would I need to get on the final to keep my A?

Roger: If the final is worth 500 points, then your class will have 1910 + 500 = 2410 points total. In order to get a 90% overall, you’ll need at least 2410 × 90% = 2169 points total. So, if your current grade is a 94.89%, that means you have about 1812.5 points out of 1910. In order to get 2169 points total, you’ll need at least 356.5 points (out of 500) on the Final Exam. As a percentage, 356.5/500 is a 71.3%.

I need to determine what i need on my final to pass the class. Final exam is worth 30%. The other 3 exams are worth 20% and hw is worth 10% (which i would like to leave out since i am not getting the entire 10%)

Exam one i got 68.48
Exam two 90.3
Exam three 93.5

I need 75% to pass the class. Thanks!

Roger: Did you mean that you’re going to get a 0% in homework? Or that you want to just ignore that category? I’ll assume that you just want to ignore that category. Your current grade is a 84.1%. You will need to get at least a 56.8% on the final to get a 75% overall (ignoring your homework grade).

is there a difference between A's and A+'s on your transcript? will colleges look at the difference between those 2 grades?

Roger: Plusses and minuses aren’t counted when UC’s calculate your high school GPA.

my current grade in trigonometry is 61.65% only thing I have left to do is the final exam which is worth 35% of my grade. I wanted to know how much would I need to at least earn 71%

Roger: You’ll need at least a 88.4% on the final to get a 71% overall.

@Joanne

You will need to score at least 76% on your final to get a 90% overall.

If you get a 0% on the test you will have 66.4%.
You need a 43% on your final to have a 75% overall.
If you get 100% on it you will have a 86.4%

i have an 83 percent in my class right now and my final coming up is worth 20 percent of my overall grade if i fail it badly could my grade go possibly below a 75 percent ? what is the most my grade could go down ?

Roger: If you get a 0% on the test, your grade will be a 66.4%. I guess that’s the most your grade could go down.

Hi roger. I am in college, and am taking my final tomorrow for my general education course. This course is online and i cannot remember ANYTHING for it for some reason... i currently have 96 (this is 70 percent of my course made up of different assignments) in the course, but i am 100 percent sure that i will not pass tomorrow. If the test is worth 30 percent, can I fail?

Roger: Well, even if you got a 0% on the final, your grade would only drop to a 67.2% (which is probably a passing grade?). If you get a 40% on the final, your grade will be a 79.2%. You can also use the option on the Final Grade Calculator labeled “Already took the final. What is my overall grade?” to try more combinations.

Roger: Well, the average of [55%, 70%, 65%, 71%, 67%] is 65.6%. Is that what you were asking for?

I have a 63 in my class right now, each exam is worth 25% of my grade and we have 4 exams. My teacher makes it that our highest test grade is 150% of our final grade and our lowest counts at 50%.. my grades are 73, 52, 65. What do I need to get on my final to get at least a B- (80%) in the class.

Roger: You will need to get at least a 104% on the 4th exam to get an 80% overall. Alternatively, if you get a 77.3% on the 4th exam, you’ll get a 70% overall.

I have a 80% in my English class. The final written exam is 20% of the grade. What do I need in it to maintain a B and at least a 70?

Roger: Assuming that your final written exam is the last thing that will go into your grade, you’ll need to get at least a 30% on the final exam to get a 70% overall.

hey i have 41% in the class but I wanna get 50% final exm is 65% of ma grade how much i need to pass

Roger: Did you mean that your final exam is worth 65% by itself? Or is it part of a Tests category that’s altogether worth 65%? I’ll assume the former. If so, then you’ll need at least a 54.8% on the final to get a 50% overall.

Test are worth 65% of our grade and homework is worth 35% of our grade. I have 100% in homework and On my first test I got a 73 and the second one I got a 92 my grade is an 82% before the second test. What is my grade after the second test?

Roger: After the second test, your overall grade should increase to a 88.6%.
