My grade for this one class in only in points... if I have a 88.49% grade and my final is 585 points, what will I need to get to maintain it?
Roger: Maintain what? A 88.49? The answer depends on how many points you already have. (But, for some reason, you just want to maintain an 88.49%, then you would simply need a 88.49% or higher. That should be intuitive.
Confused
Thu, 17 Jan 2013 00:30:23 GMT
Sorry. To get at least a 79.45% or B-
Roger: Ah, I see. You would need a 50.2% or a 63/125 on the final then.
Confused

I'm in high school and for one of my classes it's 45% for first quarter and 45% for 2nd quarter and the final is 10% of my grade. My grade is currently a (82.70%) if my test is 125 points what would I need to get on my final.
Roger: What grade are you aiming for? You didn’t say. I’m going to pretend that you’re aiming for at least a B (80% +), so you would need a 55.7% or 70/125 on the final.

So like I said before I have a 51% on my math class and we are taking 2 tests they weight is 35.00 each and a quiz which weight's is 25.00 so my question is if I get a 100% on both the 2 tests and also on the quiz. What would be my final grade?
Roger: I don’t understand. Are you saying that your classwork is 5% and you currently have a 51%? That the tests are 35.00% and quiz is 25.00%? If so, you would have a 97.5%, although I don’t think that’s what you were asking.

1st thank you so much for this website
2nd- my history class is based on the point system not percentage.
i have a 85.18% in the class.
there are 837 points maximal and i have 713 ---> 713/837
the final is 100 points.
what do i have to get out of a hundred to remain at a B (so 81%)
thank you so much
Roger: 45.97/100.

I have an 87.43%
Classwork is worth 25%, and I have a 78.57% in that category
Test/Quizzes/Projects are worth 75%, and I have a 90.38% in that category.
I'm guessing my teacher is counting the final as part of the Test category... so what do I need to get on it to have a 90? (or 89.7%) assuming the test is going to be out of at least 100 pts :\?
Thank you!
Roger: How many points of Test/Quizzes/Projects do you already have?

I'm getting an 84.29 in AP physics. We just took part of the final worth 35 percent of our grade. I got a 72 percent. What do I need to get on the remaining part of my final to keep my B?
– The whole final is worth a total of 20 percent
-- Ohh right my bad 35 percent of my final test, which is worth 20 percent of my overall grade.
Roger: Gotcha. So what you have to do is use the calculator twice. First put in [84.29, 80, 20] to find out what you have to get on the whole final, let’s call that G, where G = 62.84%. Then you put in [72, G, 65] since the part you didn’t take is worth 65% (subtract 35% from 100%), you got a 72% on the part you did take, and you need G on the whole final. Do that, and you see that you need 57.91% on the rest of the final to maintain that 80% (B).

I have a 93 in the class the final is 15 percent but it consists of three parts each worth 5 percent, what do i have to get on each of the three parts to keep my A?
Roger: Well you have to have at least a 73% when you take the average of the scores of the three parts. To take the average of three scores, you add up your scores and divide by 3.

if my grade goes down after doing well on a project why would this be? is it because my project grade is higher then the grade I got on the actual project?

Right? or did i mess something up?

Hey Roger! My school has a really weird grading system and I was wondering if you could help me figure out an equation to see what I have to get on my final.
The work we do in class over the semester is divided into practice (homework) and mastery (tests, essays, etc). Practice is worth 20% and mastery 80%. The we have midterms, worth 10%, and finals, worth 15%. So in the end, practice/mastery is 75% and big tests are 25%. How should I try to calculate it?
Thank you!
Roger: Well, it depends on which variable you want to solve for. According to what you’re saying 75% of (20% of your Practice grade + 80% of your Mastery grade) + 10% of your Midterm grade + 15% of your Final grade would get you your final grade. You basically just sum them up according to their weights.
