Roger: If your midterm is 50% and your final is 50%, then your entire grade is just your midterm and final? Or did you mean that you have an “exams” category which is altogether worth 50%? If your grade is made up of only your midterm and your final, then your current grade is a 52%.

I am a high school student and I am taking my first college class on the side.
I had one paper that was worth 15% of the grade and I got 100% on it.
My bibliography was worth 10% and I got a 95% on it.
The second paper was due already, but I got an extension, and it was worth 15%.
The third paper is worth 20% and I haven't turned that in, but am hoping to get an A.
The fourth paper is worth 10% and I also hope to get an A.
I have a 100% average in my writing journal, which is worth 30%.
If I turn in my grammar workbook, which I will, it will be 10% extra credit toward the 30%.
So, my question is, if I don't do the second paper, and get As on the last two, what will my final grade be?

Roger: I’ll assume that you’ll get a 95% on your 3rd and 4th papers. In that case, your overall grade should be a 86.0% if you don’t do the 2nd paper.

UPDATE: Aced 2 assignments and my grade went from A- up to a solid A! Used the grade calculator to figure out I don't need to bother studying. Thanks so much Roger!

Hello Roger I have a 60 In my English class I have a paper left it's worth 200 points if I get an A are B average on my paper will that bring me to and 70 average?

Roger: The answer depends on how many points you have total. For example, if your 60% grade is actually 300 out of 500 points, then you’ll need to score at least a 190/200 (95%) on your paper to raise your overall grade to a 70%.
