To clarify, Unit 3, I got an 88.10%. The final would only impact Units 1- 3, so would it be possible to calculate what I need to maintain a 90%.

How much are those categories worth? Is the final worth anything by itself? What are your grades in your other units?

How do I calculate what I need on a final if the final replaces my grade for different categories in each unit?
For example:
Unit 1 has a weight of 20% and I got an 89.7% for that unit.
Unit 2 has a weight of 25% and I got an 86.57%
Unit 3 has a weight of 15% and I got an 8.1%

There are two other sections, but the final would only impact these. I have a 90.01% overall.

I need a 90 to make A-Merica great A-gain.

Hello, how do I calculate what I my final exam score needs to be for me to pass this class with a C (at least 70)?

Midterm - 15%
Labs - 10%
Final - 60%

The syllabus says: "Any quiz or midterm score that is worse than your final exam score will be replaced by your final exam score."

Roger: That’s an extremely generous policy. I almost don’t believe it (does your instructor have a reputation for extremely hard final exams?). Your current overall grade should be a 86.5%. You’ll need to score at least a 59.0% on your final exam to get a 70% overall. To get an 80% overall, you’ll need to score at least a 75.2% on your final exam. To get a 90% overall, you’ll need to score at least a 88.6% on your final exam.

If you haven’t already, ask your teacher and/or counselor about getting extra help. They’re more than happy to help you sort through any problems you’re having.

I've worked hard all semester and I have a 95 in Lit and because I worked with a friend when neither of us thought it was not allowed, I failed a major writing grade and now I can't get an A I hate my life.

I have a 77.45 percent in a class and my teacher said she will drop a test score of 66 percent that was worth 40 percent of my grade. Will that be enough to boost my grade to and 80.00 percent to higher?

Roger: I feel like your test score isn’t worth 40% of your grade. Instead, your test score should be part of a “tests” category which is altogether worth 40% of your grade. In that case, the answer depends on (1) how many tests you’ve taken, (2) your current test average, and (3) whether you have any empty categories in your grade like a “final exam” category that doesn’t have a score yet.
