I have a 70.8 now I want to have a 74.5 at the end of final, here are my averages.
Tests-60%, have one left
HESI-10%, havent done it yet
Clinical-5%=I have had a 88.0, 93.0, 96.0 thats all of them
Final-25%, last
what do I need to make to get the grade passing..@74.5

Roger: Hi Lacy. The answer depends on your test average and how many tests you have already taken, but with the data so far, it looks like you will make a 74.5% by the end of the Final if you get around an ~81% on your HESI and the Final.

I currently have a 50% in a Math class. What do I need to get on my final (which is the only thing left for me to do for this class) that is 270 points. I'm not sure what's the percentage it's worth of my grade. Could you calculate what I may need to get on the Final in order to get at least some passing grade? 60% - 70% if possible....? Appreciate your help!

Roger: Hi CSP. It depends on how many points you have in the class right now. Do you know that number?

Hey roger I have currently a 91.989 in math and my teacher graded my homework assignment she put in a 80%. Homework is a formative assignment is worth 10% of my grade. Major assignments are worth 55% and Minor assignments are worth 35% there has only been 19 formatives which I have gotton all 100's except one which she accidently gave me a 80. And only 3 major and 3 minor. My averages for formative is a 99 (with that 80 fixed I would have 100%) and a 92% in major and a 90% in minor. Would my grade change to at least a 92 if I fix that 80%? How much more would I need?

Roger: It looks like you have around a 92% right now. In fact, the reason that you have a 91.9898 and not a 92 is because these numbers you gave me (99, 92, 90) aren’t precise enough. Can you provide a few more decimals?

Hi Roger! I was wondering what grade I would need going into my final to get a 70% in the class. Assuming I get a 100% on the final, my final makes up 20% of my grade. What would I need going into my final to receive a 70%?

Roger: You would need a 62.5%.

I love your website! This helped me. I started to panic but if worse came to worse I think ill be ok however.... If my teacher drops my 2 lowest grades and I have an 82.6 in chem and id really like a B what should I make on final if its worth 20% of my grade?

Roger: Hi Gabby. This depends on several factors including: 1) How much are tests worth as part of your entire grade? 2) How many tests have you taken? 3) What were your 2 lowest grades? and 4) What is your test average? If you can get back to me with those details, I can give you an answer.

Hey Roger! I'm currently in this inevitable situation where I need to pass this class or else I have to waste a summer retaking this class. I currently have a 55 in this class, what grade do I need to have to pass this pain-in-the-ass-class?

Roger: I don’t know. What grade do you need to pass the class?

Hi Roger,

My grade in a class is currently an 84.78%. I just had a quiz in which I scored a 60%, and quizzes are worth 15% of the grade. I have a test tomorrow which is worth 10%. How much do I need to score to get at least an 87?

Roger: I can’t give you an exact answer without knowing your quiz average and how many quizzes you have already taken, but you need at least ~107% on the test tomorrow.

Thanks. What if I got an 85 on the next mid-term? What would I need to get on the final to get a 70% overall in the class.

Roger: You would need a 62.32% on the final.

Hi Roger, I have a 73% average in math, and I really want an 80! There's only two more weeks in the quarter, so probably only one or two tests left. my final is 20% of my grade. Is there anything I can do? I REALLY want that 80!

Roger: Hi Liana. It depends on 1) what your test average is, 2) how much your tests are worth (% of total), and 3) how many tests you’ve taken already. Can you give me estimates for these?

Hello,
Currently here is what I have

76% quizzes worth 10%
65% on critical thinking (there are two more) and they are combined worth 20%
69% on midterm(there is one more) combined they are worth 20%
My final is worth 30%

What is my current grade and what do I need to get on each of the other things to maintain a 70% or higher?

Right now, you have a 68.8. You need a 71.2% on your 2nd midterm and your final to get a 70% or higher.

Okay, so I had a 99.8% in class and wanted a 100%. The grade calculator said I needed 100.8% on the final to get that. It literally said that I was screwed. So I took the final and guess what? I got 100.8% on the final!! I swear to God I'm not lying. But I still only have a 99.8% in the class =( So I just wanted to say: WHY DID YOU LIE TO ME GRADE CALCULATOR...WHY?!

Hey! So in one of my classes I have a 98% I want at least an A in the class (93%). He hasn't the weighted the final, which is out of 66 pts., and is the same as our daily assignments and projects. I'm not really sure what I should put in the "your final is worth" box. Can you tell me the bear-minimum score I need for an A... and what to put in the box for future reference?
Thanks Roger!

Roger: The bare-minimum you need for an A depends on how many points you already have in the class. Do you know that number?

I have a 73.3 in my math class and were taking a test tomorrow and it can replace my last quiz which I got a 76 on and my last test which I got a 65 on, and tests are worth 60% of my grade..how much will my grade be affected if I get an A on my next test??

Roger: I need to know what your test average and your quiz average is, along with how many tests and quizzes you have taken so far. I also need to know the weight of your quiz category. Please try to provide all the information you have.

Hi Roger,

I see the math, but why is it that it takes a 93.1% on a final to get my grade up 1 point? I have an 89.1 in my anatomy class and the final is worth 20% of the grade. If the grades are averaged then shouldn't any percentage of an A (90-100) get me over the hump?
Ps. I know this question probably seems stupid, but I'm smart in other areas I swear :) lol

Roger: Haha, no problem. Here’s an intuitive way of thinking about it: Let’s say you have a 0% in the class and you got 100% on the final. How much would that raise your grade? By 20%, of course. Now, let’s say you have a 50% in the class, and you got 100% on the final. How much would that raise your grade? Well actually, only by 10%. Try this on the calculator: 0.8 × 50 + 0.2 × 100. You will get 60%. As your overall grade increases, good grades help you less and less, and since you have an 89.1 (which is pretty high), it is much more difficult for a good grade to boost your overall grade than it would be if you had a much lower score.

Is it possible for me I get a 79.5%?

Roger: Yes. However, it depends on what you have in each of those categories and which category your points go into.

Roger, can this work for the last test of the semester? The last 9 weeks ends tomorrow, and I have a math test tomorrow during the day. It's not the final, but could this still work for a normal test grade?

Roger: Yes, however if your last test is in a category that shares its weight with other tests, post your grade breakdown and current grade in each category here, and I’ll help you out.

Hi, Roger! i have a hard time calculating my grade & am in college. Please tell me the grade I have so far & will have, thank you!365 points in the course is needed. Lecture exams and quizzes are worth
about 60% of the total grade &90 ≤ A 80 ≤ B < 90
70 ≤ C < 80
60 ≤ D < 70
F < 60 There are 4 exams, each one is worth 55 pts. So far I have 2 Ds, 32/55, 32/55. A >= 47.7

B >= 42.4

C >= 37.1

D >= 31.8 And 6 lecture quizzes, worth 5pts each, so far I took one only. There are 11 labs, 2 are worth 20 pts, while the rest are 10 pts each. So, far I did 3 labs. I got 8/10, 9/10 & 19/20. Thank you!

Roger: I don’t know what you’re saying. Can you rephrase all of that more concisely?

I got a 77 on my midterm is worth 50%
The final is worth 50%
(5) quizzes I got 3/10, 7/10, still got 3more those are worth 50%
Final presentation 50%
Lab reports 50%
Participation 50%
Can I still get an A in the class?

Roger: I’m sorry, it appears that you have specified a total of 300%. Can you clarify what you mean? You can only allocate 100 percentage points of a whole, by definition.

Hi, so i'm taking a math class right now. Homework is 20% of our grade and I have an 84.6% in that right now. Tests are 80% and there are 5 of them, including the final so they are 16% each I think. I've made a 72.25% and a 20% on the two i've taken. Is there anyway that I can still pass this class with 3 more tests to take?

Roger: What grade do you need to pass? If you get an 80% on the next 3 tests and the final, you will have a 71.92% in the class.

I have taken 3 lecture and 3 lab test.

Roger: To get a 75% overall, you need to average a 80.88% on your remaining tests. To get an 85% overall, you need to average a 98.88%.

Hi, I'm in need of your help I have had three exam and received a 75, 62, and 71 on them they are worth 70% of our grade. Our final was 100 question but is only worth 20% of our grade. I need to know what I would have to get on my final to pass the class with a 75%?

Roger: I assume that the other 10% of your grade was homework or something, and that you got 100% in that category. In that case, you will need a 82.3% on the final exam.

My quiz average is 99% and we have taken 14 quizzes.

Roger: Hi. Based on your numbers, you have a 86.5% average in your non-Quiz categories, which means that you need 112.48% in your quiz category. If you take 16 more quizzes and get 124% on each of them, you can get a 93% overall. You cannot get a 93% overall with only 100% quizzes.

I took 1 test so far and got a 68% on it.

Ok so I have a question.

I currently have a 95.3% in physics; 125.8 points out of 132.0 points for my homework grade. I don't really have the breakdown of the weight of my homework grade apart from my tests; the classwork grade is 80% and the final is worth 20%.
I have a test coming up that is worth 100 points, added onto my classwork grade. It is the first test I've had this term. As I said above, there isn't necessarily a breakdown between the homework and test grade--just that classwork is 80%. Would you be able to tell me what I should get on the test?
Thanks.

Roger: What should you get? Well, what grade are you aiming for? In my opinion, you should get 100% on every Physics test, but that’s probably not the answer you’re looking for.

Hi Roger! I have a question. I have a class where 20% goes to a first assignment which I recieved a 95%, and exam I missed worth 30%, another assignment worth 20% which has not come and 30% for the final exam. I want to know if I can still pass the class with a decent grade and what would be the highest grade I could possibly get by my missing that exam. Please help, I'm worried!

Roger: Well, if you get 100% on both the “another assignment” and the final exam, then you will have a 69% in the class.

Hello Roger,
I have an overall average 57% in my psych classes, I need an overall average of 60%. I am currently taking one more psych class to try and boost my average. What do i need to get in this class to get a 60%? I have had one midterm so far, I got 53% worth 30%. Thank you.

Roger: Well, you need a 63% in that second class, which means that if you get a 67.3% on your 2nd midterm and your final for your second psych class, you will get a 60% overall average.

steph
Tue, 05 Mar 2013 09:56:07 GMT

ok, Rog:
I am trying to figure out how i need to do to get the grade i need.... Ideal final grade = 80%

Lecture: 4 Exams (100pts each)/4 Quiz (25 pts each) = 60% of grade
Lab: = 40% " "

Grades= Exam 1 - 55% Quiz 1- 76%
2 - ?% 2- 56%
3 - ? % 3- ? %
4 - ?% 4- ?%

Lab 88%

Roger: You need to get an average of 81.52% on the rest of your assignments to get a 80% in the class. Here’s how you calculate it: Okay, so first put [88, 80, 60] into the calculator and get 74.66667%. Then, observe that you currently have a 58.66667% in your Lecture grade. Also, you have 350/500 points undecided on your Lecture grade, which is 70%. Now put [58.66667, 74.66667, and 70] into the calculator and get 81.52%.

Homework assignments are weighted at 45 percent of my grade, and I already have a 210.5/212 (99.29%) in homework. If I get a perfect on both these assignments, how far will it move up my grade? Thanks!

Roger: Hi there. Your grade will increase by 0.04%. Are you trying to get to a 93%? It doesn’t look like 30 more perfect homework points will get you there (but a test or anything else might).
