Hello
So if I have an 81% in math, and the final is worth 15%, but I already took part 1 of the final (25% of final grade i think) and got a 52%[i know I know] IF i just get a 52% on the rest of the final, do I get to keep my grade?
Thanks!
Roger: Your grade would drop to a 76.65%. You need a 96.66% on the 2nd part of the Final if you want to keep your 80% overall.

As of right now i have a 66.54% in my class, and i have one last test that isn't going under a "final" category. It's just going in as another test. Tests are worth 75% in the class, and this test im about to take is the 7th test of the semester.
This upcoming test is 100 points. What percent do I need to get on the test to raise my grade to a 69% overall??
Thanks So Much!

hey roger so i have a had a 96%. the part one of the final (the total final is worth 15%) i got a 52%. that brought down my grade to a 90%, because it was counted as the whole 15%. what do i need to get on part two of the final to get a 90% overall? i dont need to get a 90 because the part two is added into part one as the total category. part two is 100 points part one is 48 points
-thank you soooo much!
Roger: You’re correct. Your grade is artificially low because the 52% counts as the whole category. To figure out what you need on the 2nd part, you just use the calculator twice. First, you put in [96, 90, 15] to find out what you need in the whole finals category (the answer is 56%). Then you see that your 2nd part is worth 100 / (100 + 48) = 67.57% of that category. So, you put in [52, 56, 67.57] and see that you need a 57.92% on the 2nd part of the Final to keep your 90%. (The reason that this result is not 52% is that your numbers are too imprecise. A 96.00% and a 52.00% would actually put you at a .96*.85 + .52*.15 = 89.4%. However, the result is so low that this imprecision is irrelevant.) Enjoy your week!

Melinda,
Not everyone that is smart has bad people skills. There are lots of people that are smart and be outgoing. I feel like the stereotype that all people who get straight A's just spend their whole day studying and doing homework is wrong, they still have time with friends and such. While I feel like the person who you were referring to was a little inconsiderate when he said that everyone on here has bad grades, he may be a good, outgoing person in general.

The code has a DIVIDE_BY_ZERO exception. I'd suggest that you try debugging it.
Roger: JavaScript actually handles division by zero with the built-ins, INFINITY and -INFINITY, as well as regular, old NaN’s for other things. Standards-adhering implementations should never throw anything because of a division. Thanks for the tip though.

Hi! I have a question, I'm taking my Algebra II final this week, and after using the calculator I'm still somewhat confused as to what I should get on the final. My grade for the third quarter was at about 40% (as you can see I didn't do that well) and this quarter I improved and ended up with a 79%. The final is worth 20% of my grade, so I'd like to know what is the lowest grade I can get on my final in order to pass, as I will be a senior next year and definitely would not like to take this class again next year! :/ my math teacher says that he will probably curve our grades if it's necessary, but I still would like to know what grade I need to pass to end the semester with at least a D.
Roger: Given that the two quarters are weighted equally (this may actually not be the case), you would need a 62% on the final to get a 60% overall.
I NEED HELP! !!!!

Try using a switch statement to calculate the response...
For examole:
switch(percentage/10) //make percentage an int so that it truncates the input
{
case 1: alert(you dont have to study);
...
case 9: alert(study your ass off!);
}
Roger: It already does this, though the cutoffs I used may not be appropriate for the grading in every course.
hi everybodyyyyyyyyyyyyy whazzuopppppp
hi how are ya
Roger: I’m good.
How accurate is this? I used a bunch of other ones and they all gave me abunch of different percentages
Roger: This is accurate.
If I have a 59 in a class overall and my exam is worth 10% of my grade, what do I need to get on my final in order to get a 93.5 overall?
Roger: 404%
No.
First semester I got a 66.2 and this semester I have a 55.1 and my test is worth 20% of my grade what do I need to get
Roger: What grade are you aiming for?
Hello, I really really really need help!!
I have a low D in my biology class . Around 64% . My final is worth 20% of my grade. I need at least a D which is a 60% to pass my class. What is the lowest I can get on the exam but still pass? PLEASE HELP!!!!
Roger: You can get a 44% on the final.
I have an Anatomy & Physiology final exam coming up REALLY soon and I want to try and get at least an 85 overall average. My exam is 20% of my final grade, and my grades for each quarter were 88, 89, 88, and 89.
Thanks in advance!
Roger: You need a 71% on the final.
I'm getting a 77% in math and my final is in two parts.... the first I got a 71% on... what do I need to get on my second part to either keep my C or raise it to a B?
Roger: How much is your final worth? If your grade isn’t determined with weighted categories, how many points do you have total, and how many points are each of the parts of the final worth?
Well i need a 90% on a test waho
