Sorry, I didn't see your other tool! Thanks for making it!

Roger: Gotcha. Just to double check, you should have gotten 65.77% as the answer. I used [94.01, 89.5, 20, 2, 1, 40, 60, 32] as the inputs. The last number is 32, because 32 is 80% of 40 points. I chose 40 and 60 arbitrarily (you could have picked any pair of values, as long as their ratio was 40:60).

Hello,

For a social studies class, I have a 94.01% for the semester. The final is two parts: multiple choice and writing. The writing part is worth 40%, and the multiple choice is 60%. The final as a whole accounts for 20% of my grade. I got an 80% on the writing portion. What do I need to get on the multiple choice part to keep an 89.5% in the class? Thanks a lot!!!

Roger: You need at least a 65.77% on the multiple choice portion to get a 89.5% overall.

Roger: Sounds about right.

PLEASE HELP ME !! So I need to get an 85 percent on my final overall for French. There is a speaking final ( I got a 96 on it) which is 25% of our final exam. then there is a written final that I didn't take yet which is worth 75 % of the final exam. Could you please tell me what grade I need to get on the written final to get at least an 85% on the final overall? THANK YOU SO MUCH!

Roger: You would need at least a 81.3% on your written final to get an 85% on the final overall.

Such a great website. I had a feeling the finals would be easy enough to score me all A's and B's, but it's good to know what scores I must get to achieve those scores. Thank you so much Roger! :-)

Wow thanks. Great for focusing. I need a 66 on my pre calc final but a 95 on my biology. I better study bio!

one question. how can we calculate it if our teacher drops our lowest quiz score after the EOC? my lowest quiz score is r a 76, and its worth 19 points out of 506. its a different class that i need an 84% on the EOC to get a 90. if my teacher drops the score, what will i have to get then?

Roger: You can calculate your current grade with the dropped quiz. Then, use that to figure out what you need on the EOC. If you need help, post 1) your current overall grade, and 2) how much your EOC is worth, and I’ll try to figure it out.

Hi, I have an 86.1 and have a essay which is worth 50 points and the category is worth 45% and have a test which is worth a test and the category is worth 25% and have taken 8 tests so far.

Roger: What is your goal? And how many essays have you written so far? Also, what is your current test average and essay average? And do you have any other assignments that you haven’t completed aside from the essay and test?

Liam

Great tool, but what if my teacher does not weight the categories?

Roger: Try using the option that’s labeled “My class has a point system”. If that doesn’t help, post a comment and I’ll try to figure it out.

Roger, I need help! You see I don't really have a final but a midterm that will be counted as a test. My test average is 90.5% and I've taken 9 test, my homework average is 100% my grade is based 50% for homework and another 50% on test what do I need to get on this test to have at least a 92%?

Roger: You need at least a -65% (yes, negative) on the final to get a 92% overall.

Hi Roger,

I have a current grade, including finals, of 89.07. I got an 82% exact on my final. I don't know what my grade was before, so what grade did I need on my final to get an A? My final is worth 15% of my grade.

Thanks.

Roger: I’ll assume that an A is a 90%. If so, you would have needed at least a 88.2% on the final to get an A. Your overall grade before the final was a 90.3%.

Finals next week!

Thaaanks I need a 91 on my final exam to keep an A BUT I WOULD APPRECIATE IF YOU DIDN'T SAY "YOU'D BETTER STUDY A LOT." I MEAN COME ON, IT'S A 91. THAT'S PRETTY OKAY TO GET. DON'T FREAK ME OUT HERE, OKAY? I ALREADY FREAK OUT ENOUGH

I have an 89.17% in my class. Tests & essays are worth 50% of my grade; the other 50% is from homework and classwork. If I have an 82.43% in my tests and essays category and a 95.9 in my hw and cw category and I got an 83% on my final, can I bump up my grade to an 89.5% by doing two 5 point extra credit assignments which go into my test and essay category?

Roger: It sounds like your final would go into your Tests and Essays category. I need to know how many points are already in your Tests and Essays category as well as how many points your final is worth.

If I have 64.90% and want to have a 76% in the class but the next Quiz is worth 5% and the final 20% what do I need to to get on those exams to get a 76%?

Roger: You need to average at least a 109.3% on the remaining quiz and final.

I really want a 96.5+ in Geometry. My test average is 90.8 and I have taken 4 tests so far. I will take two more tests before the end of the semester. I have a 95.8 in the class. Tests are worth 42.60 percent of my grade. What will I need to get on my two tests to have, say, a 96.7?

Roger: You need to average at least a 95.73% on the remaining 2 tests.

i got cheated!!! i had a 79% in biology that is only one percent away from a B. i got a B on my exam (that is worth 25% of my grade) and it says my final grade is a C. meaning that the exam didnt add a single percent to my grade!!!

Roger: Well, you would need at least an 83% on the exam in order to get your grade up to a B. Did you get lower than that?

Hi Roger, I am sorta embarrassed to post on this because everyone else posting has an 80, 90 average. I am currently failing math, literally getting a 36 percent as my average for math. (My school goes by term) So far the year I have had 4 evaluations. I don't know how but each of the evaluation, I have gotten 36, 40, 36, and 36. My teacher is giving a re test for the 4th evaluation. This is already the first half of the year and I am so worried. i want at least a 63 before my final evaluation! Right now, my teacher does not give any homework or assignments or quiz, everything is based on the unit test which I have failed all of them... In a couple of weeks, there will be a MID-term and it is worth 30 percent for the second report card but a regular test mark for the third report card... I was wondering what I need to get on the re test and the mid term to get at least a 52 in math? So I can build from there and hopefully not fail math...

Roger: I am not very clear on how your evaluations and your term grades fit together. So, if you get to retake your 4th evaluation, you need to average a 68.2% on your retake and the midterm in order to get your grade up to a 52% overall.

Omg so I have been jumping from a B+ to an A- in my honors english course. I took 2 parts for my final. I got an 87% on the first part and this website said I need to get about an 80% on part 2 to get an 89.5% (my teacher rounds up). She hasnt put in part 2 yet and it worries me so much because I REALLY WANT/NEED an A- to have a 4.5 GPA this semester. Like OMG im worried :/

Roger,

I think my senior lit. teacher calculated my grade incorrectly. My composite semester grade consists of my first semester grade (80%) plus my final exam grade (20%). I finished the first semester with an 84.77% (570.5/673 pts.) and got a 90% (270/300) on the final. However, after the final exam grade was put in, my composite semester grade did not change in the online grade book, and I'm pretty sure it should have gone up about a percent. What should my grade be?

Roger: Your grade should have gone up from a 84.77% to a 85.82%.

If I have a 65% in calculus, and I need an A , with the final being 30 % of my grade, what do I need ?

Roger: You need at least a 148.3% on the final.

Roger...

I have received a 55 on the midterm which is 30% of the final grade, a 94 which is worth 40 % of the final grade. What would I have to receive on discussion home work which is worth 10% of the final grade and what would I have to earn on the final which is worth 20% of the final grade in order to get a B for the class?

Roger: You would need to average a 86.3% on the two remaining categories.

grade is a 67 is that right . I calculated it on here and it says my grade should be a 71

Roger: No, that is not right. If you had an 80% average before the final exam, your overall grade should be much higher than a 67%, and even higher than a 71%. How much was your final exam worth?
