50% is a passing grade. If I get a 0% on my exam, I’ll still pass with a 60+%. That makes me so much more stressed than I was a couple minutes ago. XD

If your final is a percent of your grade, it can only lower your score. If you want to keep your exact grade percentage, you must get a 100%. This means you want to get as high a grade percentage as possible so that you don’t have a hard time keeping the A or B or whatever you need to pass. You cannot get an A if your grade percentage is an 89% over the semester, same with anything lower than within .5 of the next percentile.
