I have to make a 62.5% on my Operating Systems final to get the grade I want yet I'm still terrified.

Roger: You’re lucky to be able to calculate that so precisely. Back when I was a TA for operating systems, we just kind of assigned grades post hoc. Before the final exam, it was anyone’s guess what you’d need to score to get the grade you wanted. The only guidance was basically just “try your best”.

Roger: It depends on how much of your coursework you’ve completed so far as well as exactly how low your “F” grades are. For example, if your “95%” overall grade represents 55% of your total coursework and you score 50% on 3 assignments that altogether represent another 30% of your coursework, then your overall grade should drop to a 79.1%.

Roger: If you’re having trouble memorizing formulas, I find it useful to memorizing the entire derivation, rather than just the formula itself. In the worst case, you can re-derive whatever formula you need during the test itself.
