Hey, Roger, I have math finals next week and right now overall I have (65 percent) in it including all 4 marking period and midterm and my teacher told me that midterm and final exam make my 1/5 of the final overall grade and final is worth 10% of it so, how much should i bring roughly on my final exam to pass this class and get 61 percent.

You've made a truly amazing tool here Roger. I used to stress every semester about finals, but this calculator has relieved me of that. It's very comforting to have an idea of your grade before you take your test, especially when you're told you can go as low as 60%. Thank you!

Currently have a 75.5% in my differential equations and linear algebra class (combined math class). Final is worth 40% so I need a 61%. Luckily he doesn't give out F's due to his curve. The lowest grade you can receive on an exam is a 65% I believe. In his class an A is worth 95%, B is 85%, C is 75%, and a D is a 65%. For example, tests are usually 130-150 points (10 pts each question). On one of my exams a 60/130 made the cut for the C curve and I think an 80 made the B curve. You get my point lol.

Roger: I think grade distributions with means of about 50% are superior. They capture more fidelity than inflated grade distributions, and they give good students the opportunity to score 3 or 4 standard deviations above the mean, if they try hard enough.

I'm glad a helpful person like you exist. Thanks for being the only person who doesn't get my hopes up and crushes it. Your website is very helpful and thanks for creating it. I don't have to stress a whole lot about most of my finals because this site has helped me figure out that the lowest grade I need to get is about 11.6% to keep straight b's. Although b's aren't that good, I'm not very smart.
