You currently have a 70% in the class and would require a 120% in order to get a B (80%).

Depending on the extra credit your teacher/professor offers, this may be attainable. Or you could speak with your teacher/professor about your situation.

Hey, Roger so, my overall math grade is 65 now and finals are tomorrow. Also, my overall grade includes first marking period which is 80 then 2nd is 74 then midterm is 58 then 3rd is 61 and last fourth is 61 so, the total final grade is 65. final is worth 10% of the overall grade and I have it out of 130 points so, can you tell me how many points or percentage should I bring on final to pass the class with 60% overall average.

Roger: I answered the question you posted a week ago. Last time, you said your fourth quarter grade was 62%. Did it change to 61%? Also, your current overall grade should be a 67.8%, not a 65% (assuming that your midterm is worth 10% of your overall grade, like you said last time). In any case, you’ll need to score at least a −10% on your final to get a 60% overall. Also, try out the calculator mode labeled “I need something else”. It should be able to answer this question.

I have a class, where each category is weighted by a percent. But, it does not end up to 100% total, it ends up to 90%. What should I do to calculate my grade then?

Roger: What’s the remaining 10% made of? I suppose you could try multiplying the value of each category by 10/9 (approximately 1.11).
