PLEASE HeLp I am very confident usually but my gpa and sat and everything is garbage i dont know if i will make it into a prestigious or even half decent college and then my asian parents will be disappointed. I will have a 3.8 weighted GPA after the end of the year and a 3.57 unweighted. I will take a total of 5 AP courses (including seniors year) and 4 honors courses. My SAT atm is 1360 but I am taking 3 more (i was going to take more but one got cancelled over winter because COVID i hate myself) and hope to get it up to at least a 1420-1450. Also, I took SAT Math 1 and got a 700, and will take Math 1 again as well as Math 2 (people are saying i should just take math 2 and not math 1 is that right?). The issue is i have 2 C's and a D on my transcript (I got pneumonia over second semester sophomore year and missed over a month and now i hate myself my grades are terrible) and my grades were only average at best to begin with. For clubs I am captain of chess team, skillsusa state team, honors business society member (do honors society even help?) and apart of marching band. I don't have 40 hours of volunteering yet but i should be able to get it. Also, I may (not very likely but i have an opportunity) to get an internship. Will I be able to make it into Purdue or UIUC or San Diego University or University of Wisconsin or University of Minnesota Twin Cities or University of Michigan or Boston university or Berkeley or Carnegie or am i just a burden to society and my parents

@m, if you can, I would recommend taking calc bc, since that way you can get that extra semester of calc done in high school (assuming you go to a colledge that accepts ap credit). Ap chem is pretty challenging, but most teachers have curves on tests and scale grades, so if you are truly passionate about chemistry (or are good at memorizing), then you will probably be fine. I honestly don't know about AP Econ since I didn't take it, but most of my friends said the content is "pretty brain dead", so take that how you will.

60 percent sounds quiet high for a high school final exam. If it only brings your grade up to 93 then it probably is only worth 20 percent of your grade. (1-finalworth) x (your grade grade) + (final worth) x (final grade)

Yes it is. Other work is 40%. I have taken 2 other tests, I got a 94% on one and a 78% on another test. Do you have my email so I can email you a screenshot of it.

Roger: It sounds like you told the calculator that your test was worth 60% of your grade. That’s not quite right, since you have two other tests that also contribute to that same 60% category. Assuming each test is worth one-third of your 60% category, your “test average” would have risen from 86% to 90.7%, which would have increased your overall grade by around 2.8 percentage points. So, an overall grade of 93% sounds approximately correct.

Are other assessments in the 60% category? If so then your final test grade would not effect you grade as much.

Are you sure your final was 60% of your grade? 60% is pretty high.

I had a 91% in my math class. I got a 100% on a test and he only made my grade a 93%. According to your calculator, I should have a 96%. He claims he is right and that anything online is probably wrong (40% of my grade is daily work and 60% is assessment.) (He has also not put any other stuff in so that wouldn't be it) Should he change my grade, and if so how should I approach him. I also put a grading scale for our school because our schools is different than most schools.

I need at least a 76% on my final project to get a 60% (we don't have exams because of covid) and I have a 52.9% in that class (Grade 10 academic science). I just took a quiz today so hopefully that boosts my mark up a little bit today. If anyone's reading this don't slack off, it's not worth it!
