Hey roger how do you know what grade we need? Like what is the math equation you use if you were doing it on paper with a pencil. Say I had a 75% in math and needed a 65% to pass and the exam was worth 20% of our final grade. I'd appreciate you answering this in equation form. Thank you :)

Roger: Click here to see the formulas. The trickiest part is getting the percentages correct, since numbers like “75%” need to be converted to “0.75”. Following section 2 of the document, you’d get c=0.75, d=0.65, w=0.20, so the answer is (d - (100% - w) * c) / w, which is (0.65 - (1.00 - 0.20) * 0.75) / 0.20, which is 25%.

Thanks to this I didn't have to worry about my finals. I had a b in the class and the final counts for 20% of the grade. Thanks Rogerhub.com :)

So I've been doing really bad in math! Not because I don't know the material but because I get so anxious and flustered that I speed through the questions and don't answer them correctly. Like transferring the wrong answer to the answer part of the sheet after having gotten the right answer in my calculations..my teacher refuses to give me the marks even tho its evident I know my stuff all he says is that I need to relax and focus more. I currently have a 50 in this clas with 52% to go and I need an 80 so I don't fail the whole semester. I really don't want to repeat and pay money to redo the whole semester because of 1 math class. What is your advice. How can I ace my next test worth 12% and exam worth 40%

Roger: Wait, you need an 80% to pass the class? That seems abnormally high. Have you tried talking to your instructor about that? My approach to math tests is: First, finish the problems as quickly as I can the first time, without checking my work at all. Then, do all the problems again, but don’t look at your previous answers and make sure to do them using a different method (there’s usually multiple ways you can solve the same problem). Make sure you’re getting all the same answers as the first time through, or else figure out why one of them is wrong (or maybe both are wrong). Then, go through the test and read every word of the instructions and every problem very carefully, because there’s always something that you might have misread (maybe they asked for a different quantity than what you assumed). Finally, if you have time left (usually you will), close your test and close your eyes and distract yourself. Sometimes, I’ll think of why I might have misinterpreted one of the questions, and then I’ll go back to the test and redo it. This method might not work for everybody, but I’m able to eliminate all kinds of “accidental” mistakes with it. So, if I get anything wrong, it’s because I actually don’t know how to do the problem.

i really need above 90 in all my class

I'm taking an honors science class and I am struggling in it. My grade right now is an 80.37%. What do I have to get on my final? I think that it is 20% of my grade but that is just a guess. And depending on what I have to get on my final how long do you think I should study for it and do you think I can do it?

Hi Roger, so far I have 365 points in my class so far, we still have one more exam and our final. Our last exam is worth 100 points and the final is worth 150 points, the total number of points in the course is 750. What would I need to get on the last exam and final to get an 80% in the class?
