My question is of each of the 4 areas count as 25% of the final grade and I have all 85 and above (mostly 100s) with one section of the 25% rallying to 24.17 or 96.67% how would a zero in a project affect my ending grade? Would it drop me a letter grade?

Roger: Is your project worth an entire 25%? Or are there other projects in your “Projects” category, which altogether make up 25% of your grade? For an exact answer, I need to know your exact grade in each of your 4 areas, as well as how much your project (on which you’re expecting to get a 0) is worth.

My teacher uses this website, Newsela. I've gotten some questions wrong on the quizzes on there, so my average is now a 75%. If I got a 100% score, would that bring up my average decently?

Roger: It depends on how many quizzes you’ve taken so far. For example, if you’ve already taken 4 quizzes, then your quiz average would go up to a 80%.

If I have a 91 for reading and score a 48 what grade would I get?

Roger: It depends on how much the assignment, on which you scored 48%, is worth.

I have an 80 in a class with a 100 percent on homework and claswork assignment that one is equal to 10 percent and the other is equal to 20 percent of my grade i have a 77 percent on my quoz average which equals 30 percent of my grade and a 66 on 1 test that i took tests are 40 percent of the grade. What do i have to get on my next nest and next quiz to get a 90 % in the class

Roger: The answer depends on how many quizzes you’ve taken so far. If you’ve only taken 1 quiz so far, then you’ll need to average at least a 100.7% on your next quiz and next test to get a 90% overall. If you’ve taken 2 quizzes so far, then you’ll need to average at least a 104.7% on your next quiz and next test to get a 90% overall.

I have a 68.72 in class with my class project still needed grade. It's worth 20%. What do I need to get on it to get a C in the class.

Roger: It depends on whether you have any more assignments to be included in your grade. Assuming that your class project is the only assignment left, you’ll need to get at least a 75.1% on the project to get a 70% overall. If you actually do have more assignments in your grade, then this will be an overestimate.

Hey guys so I got a 76 on my first test. This is the grading criteria for the class Im in: The average of THREE non-cumulative objective exams will determine the final grade for the lecture component of the course. The total grade for the course will be calculated by adding 2/3's of the lecture average to 1/3 of the laboratory average. Any idea what I should get on my next 2 tests?

Roger: What grade are you aiming to get overall? In your case, you can actually just use the Final Grade Calculator. Your next two exams can be treated as a final exam worth 66.67% of your overall grade. So, let’s say you wanted to get a 80% overall. You could put in “76%” in the first field, “80%” in the second field, and “66.67%” in the third field, and it should tell you that you need at least an 82% to get an 80% overall. Because you have 2 exams left, you just need to get an average grade of 82% on those 2 exams. You could, for example, get slightly lower on one exam and slightly higher on the other, as long as they averaged to at least an 82%.

I have 63.83% in physics, my test are 55.00 worth my class. What do I need to get in order to have a b? My test is tomorrow.

Roger: It depends on (1) how many tests you’ve taken so far, (2) your current test average, and (3) whether you have any grade categories that are currently empty.

If I have an A in math, how much will an F affect my grade? The F was from a test

Roger: It depends on (1) how much your tests are worth, (2) how many tests you’ve taken so far, (3) your current test average, and (4) whether you have any grade categories that are currently empty. For an exact answer, I also need to know exactly what percentage your “A” grade and “F” grade are.

I have a 96 in Geometry. I scored a 50 on a grade that's worth 40% of my grade . What will be grade be ?

Roger: Just to be clear... did you mean that a single assignment is worth 40% of your grade? Or did you mean that the category containing that assignment is worth 40% of your grade? The answer also depends on whether you have any more assignments after the 50% grade you just received. If I assume that your assignment is worth 40% by itself and that you have no other assignments, then your grade will drop to a 77.6%.

I have a 93% in the class and I got a 80% on my exam. What is my class grade?

Roger: It depends on how much the exam is worth, but it’s safe to say that your class grade is no lower than an 80% and no higher than a 93%. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Hi! I just received 70% on my midterm worth 25%. I am wondering how much I need to get on my next midterm (also worth 25%) and my final which is worth 50% in order to get an 82 in the class???

Roger: You’ll need to average at least an 86% on your 2nd midterm and your final to get a 82% overall.

Hi! I have an 88.8 GPA so far in my class. I have 2 assignments left that are worth 12.5% each. What do I need to make on each one to get a 90 in the class? Thanks!

Roger: You’ll need to average at least a 93.6% on your 2 assignments to get a 90% overall. (Assuming that those 2 assignments are the only assignments left to be counted in your grade.)

i have a 76% in the class, i have a project worth 325 pts. I have just over 450 pts. in the class, what do i need on the project for an A in the class?

Roger: When you say “I have just over 450 pts”, did you mean that your current grade is approximately 450 out of 592 points? I’ll assume so. In that case, your project will be worth about 35.4% of your current grade. So, you’ll need to get at least a 375.3/325 (115.5%) on the project to get a 90% overall.

Me: i have a 77% in my class, but i want at least a 90%, i have a project worth 650 points, what do i need to get on the project to get an A in the class??

Roger: It depends on how many points you have in your grade already.

Me: I have around 480 already in the class!

Roger: Just to clarify.. you’re saying that your project is worth more than everything else put together (up to this point in time)? I’ll assume you have 623 points of assignments total so far (which would make your overall grade 480/623 = 77.05%). In that case, you’ll need to get at least a 665.7 / 650 (102.4%) on your project to raise your grade to a 90%. But if you actually meant that your overall grade is currently a 369.6 / 480 (also 77%) then you’d need to get at least a 647.4 / 650 (99.6%) on the project to get a 90% overall.

Hi Roger!!

I just did my first two exams I got a 66.18 (17.5% of my grade and 62.5 (10%of my grade) lecture exams are 17.5% I have 3 more left in the class and lab exams are 10% of my grade and I have two more of these. If I want an 83% as an end result to my semester what would I need on the next few exams to get this grade?

Roger: Your current grade is a 64.8%. You’ll need to average at least a 89.9% on your next 3 lecture exams and next 2 lab exams to get a 83% overall. Good luck!

I have four tests worth 18% Of my grade. And I have a final worth 28% of my grade. If I get a D on the first test could I pull the class off with a B?

Roger: Definitely. If you want to know what you’ll need to get on your next 3 tests and your final exam, then it depends on exactly what kind of D you got on your first test. For example, if you got a 60% on your first test, then you’d need to average at least a 84.4% on your next 3 tests and your final exam to get a 80% overall.

So I have a 84% how many 95% or above 20% of my grade assignments will it take for me to get around a 90 or higher.

Roger: Just to clarify, you have a category that’s worth 20% of your overall grade, and you want to use it to raise your grade, right? Well, the answer depends on (1) whether you have any assignments currently in that category and, if so, then (2) your current grade for that category. It also depends on whether you have any empty categories in your grade (for example, a category that only contains the Final Exam).

My instructor did not provide a specific percent for each exam but state all the grade below would be divided by 6 scores. What do I need for my Final and exam 3.... my first exam 70 exam 2 80 mymathlab 100 in order to pass with a 70? For your course grade, the scores from your homework, three major tests, and the final examination will be taken into
consideration as shown in the following formula.
Final Average = (Exam 1 + Exam 2 + Exam 3 + My Math Lab Home Work + Final + Final)
6

Roger: Your current overall grade is a 83.3%. You’ll need to average at least a 56.7% on your Exam 3 and Final Exam to get a 70% overall. (That’s a weighted average, since according to your formula, your Final is worth twice as much as your Exam 3.)

Hi
Sat, 17 Sep 2016 18:36:37 GMT

Continuation of my last note- All tests are 60% of our grades

Roger: Okay. In that case, it’s going to get a little more complicated. If you have a “Tests” category worth 60% of your grade, then I also need to know (1) how many tests you’ve taken so far, (2) whether all of your tests are worth the same amount, and (3) whether you have any grade categories that are currently empty. (For example, if you had a category for the Final Exam, it would count as an empty category — assuming you haven’t taken your final yet.) If not all of your tests are worth the same amount, I need to know how much your most recent “Newspaper Article Assignment” grade is worth as a percentage of your entire tests category. Now, I can make up some numbers and give you an answer right now... so... if you have no empty categories and your assignment is worth one-fifth of your current test average (and your test average is also a 93%), then your grade would drop to either a 88.4% (if you got a 55% on the assignment) or a 85.4% (if you got a 30% on the assignment). If you want an exact answer, leave another comment with some more details.

If my grade is currently 72% and I got a 67% on something that is 10% of my grade, what will my overall grade be???

Roger: It depends on whether you have any remaining assignments to be included in your grade. If I assume that your 10% assignment is the last thing to go into your grade, then your overall grade will be a 71.5%. If there actually are other assignments that will eventually be included in your grade, then my answer of “71.5%” will be an overestimate.

I got a 51.25% on one exam and there are 5 exams no other grades. What do I need on the rest of the exams to at least get a B in the class?

I took a test today and I got a 50%
Test are worth 25 percent of my grade , so what will my grade be

Um hi? So I made a 30 on a TEST grade for a Newspaper Article Assignment. (Real stupid reason trust me) and I can get a 25 bonus added to it for something else. My average is a 93 what will a 55 or possibly a 30(if it doesn't work out) on a test grade do to my average like what will it be? And also I have new test coming up if I make a good grade like an A or B will it bring it up at all?

My score is 82.1% you need 77% to pass, there are 4 test and a final which I haven't took yet, according to the syllabus all test including final are weighed evenly. I do not know what that mean can you figure it out and tell me how to determine what I need to pass

Roger: If all of your 5 tests are weighted evenly, then each is worth 20%. You’ll need to get at least a 56.6% on your final to get a 77% overall.

Hello,

I am sitting at a 76% in my class. I need to make at least a 90%. I have taken 1 exam (76%), 4 essays (100% ea.), and three quizzes (100%, 60%, 83%) . What do I need to average to get from a 76 to a 90?

7% - Essays (10 left)
65% - Exams (3 left)
28% - Quizzes (3 left)

Roger: You said your current grade is a 76%, but it seems like it should be a 79.1% instead. I’ll assume you just made a mistake and that your current overall grade is actually a 79.1%. In that case, you’ll need to average at least a 94.9% on your remaining 3 exams, 10 essays, and 3 quizzes to get a 90% overall.

I have APCS in my freshman year. And I flunked my test. I got about a 71%. I wanna at least get a 97% by the end of quarter. Am I able to do that? I have 2 more tests coming soon that are worth 60% of my grade. The rest of the 40% are my quizzes and programs. If I get 100 percent on my quizzes and programs. How much percentage will I need for my 2 tests in the future so it will boost my grade up to a 97? Btw, really good calculator!

Roger: I’ll assume that you’ve only taken 1 test so far. If you get 100% on your quizzes and programs, your overall grade will go up to a 82.6%. In order to get a 97% overall, you’ll need to get at least a 107.0% on your 2 remaining tests (assuming you get 100% on your quizzes and programs).
