Hello. I have 3 tests that are worth 16% each. My final is worth 22%. I have extra stuff( HW, Labs, Project) that is worth 30%. I got a 69 on the first test. What is needed on each of my tests to get a 70% as the final grade in my class? Thank you!
Roger: Well, if we ignore your final and “extra stuff”, then you’ll need to average at least a 70.5% on your next 2 tests to raise your test average to a 70%.

Roger: Your current test average is a 55%. You’ll need to score at least a -12.5% on your 4th test in order to have at least a 70% in the class before the final. If you want to raise your grade to an 80% instead, you’ll need to score at least a 62.5% on your 4th test.

Yes that's exactly what I was talking about the calculated weight of the exams is 67.90% and so far the grade comes to the 44%. On my online hw the calculated weight is 12.35% and grade 96.42% on labs reports 19.75% and 81.13% and last but not least the final exam is still empty.
Roger: Based on those percentages, it looks like your lab category actually counts for 16% of your current grade, not 20%. Also, your test average should be 45%, not 44% (assuming that each of your tests is worth the same fraction of your total test category). That would make your overall grade a 58.5%, not a 60%. Based on those numbers, you’ll need to average a 96.8% on your next 2 tests, your final exam, and the remaining 4% of your lab category grades in order to get an 80% overall.

My grade in gov is a 75.68 and my grade in econ is a 76.3 making it a total score of 75.99. if i have a 94 in my class and lets say i get a 20 on a test and it counts 30 percent what do i have now?
Roger: The answer depends on how much of your coursework you’ve completed so far. For example, let’s say your 94% overall grade represents 50% of your coursework. In that case, your test would lower your grade to a 66.3%. (On a side note, did you mean that your test score was 20/30 by any chance? That would dramatically change the answer. I assumed you meant 20%.)

so my semester test grade is 15% of my final grade and i have a 91.09% in the class. for an A I would have to have at least a 92.5% in the class. your guys calculator at the top of the page says I would have to score over a 100% just to bump it up a little bit. That just doesn't sound right to me. if you can explain this to me it would help
Roger: Think of it this way: Let’s say that you really like lemonade. But your friend has a bad habit. Whenever you’re not looking, he pours some pee into your lemonade and makes it taste nasty! Now, let’s say you’re willing to tolerate a little bit of pee, as long as your drink is at least 80% lemonade (you can barely taste the pee if it’s icy cold). If your pitcher has 6 pints of lemonade already and just 2 pints of pee (that’s 75% lemonade and 25% pee), then adding 2 more pints of lemonade will bring it up to 80% (8 out of 10 pints are lemonade). We were able to raise the percentage from 75% to 80% by just adding 2 pints. Now, let’s say that it’s a really hot day and the ice isn’t really helping with the pee flavor, so you decide you need your drink to be at least 95% lemonade. According to your friend, you have a pitcher containing 9 pints of lemonade and 1 pints of pee (that’s 90% lemonade). How many pints of lemonade do you need to add to raise that to a 95%? Well, the answer is 10 pints (you end up with 19 pints of lemonade and 1 pint of pee). But wait! Before, you only needed to add 2 pints to raise the lemonade percentage by 5%. Why do you need 10 whole pints to raise the percentage by just 5%? Well, that’s because it gets harder and harder to dilute a bad thing (pee) with a good thing (lemonade) as the percentage of the overall mixture approaches 100% good. If you had a 99% lemonade mixture, then it would take an enormous amount of lemonade to dilute that to 99.9% or 99.99%. Hope this helps!

Hi !
I have a 72% in the class. I have one more test is worth 20%
and a project that is worth 60% .. I am pretty sure I will get an A in the project. Wondering how much do I need on the final to get a least a B on the class
Roger: How much is your final worth? Also, it sounds like your project isn’t worth 60% by itself. Instead, your project is part of a “projects category” that’s altogether worth 60%. Is that right? (Same idea with your tests.)

Test 1: 12% made a 72
Test 2: 12% made a 66
Test 3: 12% made a 68
Test 4: 12% made a 76
Test 5: 12% nothing yet
Final: 23% nothing yet
ATI test: 5% nothing yet
WHAT DO I NEED TO PASS?? Can I pass?
Roger: Your percentages only add up to 88%. Do you have a Test 6? (That would make your percentages add up to 100%.) I’ll assume you do. Anyway, your current overall grade is a 70.5% (not quite a 71%). You’ll need to average at least a 88.8% on your remaining 2 tests, your final exam, and your ATI test to get a 80% overall.

If I have a 53% and get a 70 on a test that's 60% of my grade, what's my overall grade plus a 100% on a daily grade worth 10%of my grade
Roger: It sounds like your test isn’t worth 60% by itself. Instead, your test is part of a “tests category” along with several other test scores, and those are altogether worth 60%. In that case, I need to know (1) how many tests you’ve taken, (2) your current test average, (3) how many daily grades you’ve had, (4) your daily grades average, (5) whether each assignment in those categories is worth the same amount, and (6) whether you have any empty categories in your grade, like a “participation” category that has no score assigned to it.

Dear Roger,
I'm feeling rather stressed out and after a long day of coding for the NSA's NRA overview division, I feel the need to relax by sitting back with a few coconuts and calculating some final grades but I feel that this website is rather inefficient in its grading and as such I implore you as a memebr o fthe Hutzbatz tribe, intiate the cantelope. THank you.
Thanks for the other answer. Okay so like you said my exam average on the tests say 44% but to the side the calculated weight says 67.90% would I still need to average 97.4 on each one of them and 80% on the final?
Roger: Hmm. I did a bit of digging and found that the Moodle online course system has a “Calculated Weight” column. Is this what you saw? If so, give me some more detail about what you see on that page.

I have a 35.75% in my calculus class. I have 2 more test worth 15% of my final grade. I also have a final exam worth 20% of my final grade. My homework is worth 15% and we have quizzes worth 5%. What do I have to make on the next two test to go up to at least a 70%?
Roger: I’ll assume that your 35.75% represents 65% of your total coursework, which would include your homework and quizzes. In that case, you’ll need to average at least a 218.4% on your next 2 tests to raise your grade to a 70%. As an aside, did you actually mean that your current grade is a 35.75 out of 45? In that case, your current grade would be a 79.4%, not a 35.75%, and you’d need to average at least a 41.7% on your next 2 tests to get at least a 70% overall (42 out of 60).

Hey there. I have a 60 as my calculated weight in the class. I have 4 tests and 1 final, sadly I had a 65 on the first one, on the 2nd one a 25% and the tests are worth 55% of the class grade, the final is 15%. Homework 10%, Lab 20%. I'm passing my labs and homework with 80% and above. What would I need to get on my next 2 exams and the final to get a 80% or a passing grade. The calculated weight of my exams say 67.90%. Thanks
Roger: You’ll need to average at least a 97.4% on your next 2 exams and your final exam to get a 80% overall. Your exam average should be a 45%, not a 67.90%. If you’re sure your exam average is a 67.90%, post a followup, because that would dramatically change the answer.

My overall score is 86.4% i need a 90% at least, how many more assignments or grades that count 10% of my grade do i need?
Roger: Well, it depends on what you score on those assignments. If you get bad grades on those 10% assignments, then they won’t help raise your grade. Let’s say you’re planning to score 100% on them. In that case, you’ll need to submit a volume of assignments equivalent to 36% of your currently completed coursework. For example, if you had 3 more assignments left (each worth 10% of your grade), then that would be equal to 42.9% of your currently completed work (e.g. the remaining “70%”). I assumed that you meant “10% of my grade each”, not 10% altogether. If that’s incorrect, post a followup with more details about how your grade is calculated.

so my semester test grade is 15% of my final grade and i have a 91.09% in the class. for an A I would have to have at least a 92.5% in the class. your guys calculator at the top of the page says I would have to score over a 100% just to bump it up a little bit.

Hi I have 45 in my math class. We have 4 tests worth 70 and the final worth 30. I had been talking 2 tests. How many I need on the next two test and final to pass class with 75
Roger: You’ll need to average at least a 91.2% on your next 2 tests and your final to get a 75% overall.
I have a 71% in class but need an 80% to pass..
THank you.
Sincere,y
asdfjkshaldk
Roger: Don’t be stressed! Here you go.
If so, give me some more detail about what you see on that page.
im smarter then all you guys
You will have a 79. Sorry :/
I got a 95 in AP Bio gotta get a 64 percent to keep an A. An a is an 88+
I have a 94.12 in biology right now. Test and quizzes are worth 45 percent and my scores so far are 95 and 89. I recently took a quiz and I either got an 87, 84, or 80. What will my overall grade drop to in any of these cases.
Roger: How much are your quizzes worth? What are your grades in your other categories? Have you taken any quizzes already? If so, how many? And what did you score on them?
Can someone help calculate my grade please?
Unit Tests 83%
Test 1 6% / Grade - 68
Test 2 11% / Grade - 68
Test 3 11% / Grade - 92
Test 4 11% / Grade - 84
Test 5 11% / Grade - 92
Test 6 11% / Grade - 78
Test 7 11% / Nothing yet
Test 8 11% / Nothing yet
Culture Project 2% / Nothing yet
Final Exam* 15% Nothing yet
Total 100%
If you can help me that would be amazing right now because I need an 80% to pass my program.
Roger: Your current overall grade is 81.3%.
I Have To Write A 1000 Word Essay And It Is A Major Grade That Is Worth 55% Of My Grade. My Current Grade In That Class Is An 88 If I Don't Do This 1000 Essay What Will My Final Grade Be In That Class ?
Roger: It depends on (1) how many other major grades you’ve had so far, (2) your current average score on your major grades, and (3) whether all your major grades are worth the same fraction of your major grades category.
I have done 390.1 out of 500 points(78%) so far there is 2 test left that are 100 points each. and the final is worth 150 points how much. My question is what average test on each test do I need to get out of the class with a B(80%). Thanks
Roger: You’ll need to average at least a 82.8% on your 2 remaining tests and your final exam to get a 80% overall.
What is my grade in algebra:
summitive 40%: 60
formative 40%:
80
101
85
Practice assessment 20%:
100
100
100
110
Roger: Your overall grade should be an 80.0%.
Rip everyone's grades, praying for ya
my grade in geometry is a 87. if quizzes are 25 percent of my grade what do I need to get on it to get at least a 89.5%?
Roger: Have you taken any quizzes yet? What’s your current quiz average? Are there any empty categories in your grade?
Thanks!
RIP Raider's grade
I have a 79% and i got a zero on a formal which is 65% of my grade what is my grade now
Roger: Can you provide more details? How many other assignments are in your 65% “formal” category? Are they all worth the same? What is your current average in that category? What is the remaining 35% of your grade made of?
I have a 90 in ela if i get a 25 on a major grade what will my final grade be? Please get back to me asap
Roger: It depends on how much your major grades are worth.
I have a 94 in my class and i made a 50 on a test which is 35% of my grade what is it now
Roger: It depends on how much of your coursework you’ve completed so far. For example, if your 94% represents 50% of your coursework, then your overall grade will drop to a 75.9%.
I took a 120 question test that is worth 80% of my grade. The remaining 20% is training and experience. What is the value of each of the 120 questions.
Roger: Each question is worth 0.667% of your overall grade (e.g. 1 part in 150).
got 70% on my first test; 64% on my second test - test were worth 40%
got 92% on my lab test - worth 10% overall
what is my average
Roger: I’ll assume that your tests are worth 40% altogether, not 40% each. In that case, your average should be a 72%.
If that’s incorrect, post a followup with more details about how your grade is calculated.
i have a 70.20 in math and i just got a 70 0n a quiz whats my average now?
Roger: It depends on what your quiz is worth.
