Trying to figure out what I need to make on final to come out of class with a B average.
My First Exam was a bummer(54%)
Second (76%)
Third( 76%)
And we still have one more to go. Pushing for an A

Exams are 65%
Quizzes are 15%
Final exam is 20%
I currently have a 73.04 in the class right now.
What would I have to make on next exam and final to get B?

Hi Roger. I have a dilemma. I am a straight A student, but my boyfriend wants me to ditch my classes and spend time with him. Finals are coming up, as you may already know, and I need to get As in order to have two people to call my parents. So should I ditch my classes and risk my grade? My most important classes both have the finals worth 15%, so it's a decent chunk of my grade. I have a 97 and a 94 in the classes. But if I don't ditch, my boyfriend will leave me.

Roger: Don’t skip school! But if you do, make sure you call in sick so that you don’t get in trouble. And if your counselor knows what your voice sounds like, ask a friend to call for you. Playing hooky without calling first just doesn’t work.

Hi! I'm trying to figure out what grades I need to get on my next two tests to get a B in my class. We have taken 3 tests out of the 5 scheduled this year, but the lowest one will be dropped at the end of the course. The 'tests' category is worth 75%. There will also be a 'participation' category worth 25%. These are the only 5 grades we will have this year. Right now, I have a 59.33% in the class overall with my lowest test grade being a 53%. The participation grade has not been put in yet. How well do I need to do on the last two tests to get at least an 80% in the class? If you need to, you can assume I get an 80% in the 'participation' category.

Hi again! My grade in AP has since risen to an 82, because my teacher put a worksheet (on which I scored a 100) in as a test grade. I’ll also assume that you have no other assignments remaining besides your two tests. In that case, you’ll need to score at least a 102.0% on your two remaining tests to raise your grade to a 93%. If you actually meant that your “tests” category is worth 40%, I need to know how many tests you’ve taken so far as well as your current test average.

Roger: Did you mean that your “forums” grade is 10%? Or did you mean that your “forums” grade is 10/25? I’ll assume the former. In that case, your current overall grade should be a 34.1%. You’ll need to score at least a 97.8% on the final exam to get a 50% overall.

Roger: I assume you meant that your quarter grade is 79.42% and that you have 2 quarter grades, each of which is worth half of your semester grade. In that case, you’ll need to score at least a 75% on your 2nd quarter to get a 70% semester average. Or does your “65%” semester average already include your “79.42%” quarter grade? In that case, you’ll need to raise your quarter grade to a 89.42% in order to raise your semester grade to a 70%.

I am wondering if it is possible for me to bring a 60 up to a 70 by the end of the semester. I have 4 discussion grades left worth 50% of my grade, and one paper worth 20% of my grade. The final is worth 10%. Is it possible to bring the final grade up that many points so I can pass ?

Roger: The answer depends on how many discussion grades and papers you’ve already completed. Also, what did you score on those discussion grades and papers? And is each of your discussion grades and papers worth the same fraction of their respective categories?

I'm doing horrible in my class. exams worth 60% essay 20% and participation 20% exam grades 54% 52% and 40% and we have one more exam left. I got a full 20% on my paper and the participation..is there anyway for me to pass this class with at least a 70% what test grade will I need for the last night exam??

It might sound strange that 54.0% is lower than your current overall grade (69.2%). But that’s because your test average (48.7%) is much lower than your overall grade, so it’s easier to raise your grade by taking another exam.

If I have a C+ right now in my history class, would it be possible to get A in a month? We have 5 tests left and 3 essays that count as tests.

Roger: Did you score 0/10 on your paper? Or is that a mistake, waiting to be corrected? Anyway, the answer depends on how much of your coursework you’ve completed so far. For example, if your “69.6%” current grade represents 70% of your coursework and you should have received 10/10 points on your paper, your grade should go up to a 91.0% once your paper grade is corrected.

So I just started the fresh quarter off with 2 informal 100's and bombed a Unit Formal (65%), dropping it down to a 76 in the class currently. Is it possible to pull it up to at least a 90, I feel it's possible, but is it?

Roger: Probably yes, but the exact answer depends on what else is going to count toward your 65% “formal” grades category.

Roger: Assuming that your 3rd and 4th marking periods are each worth half of your total grade, you’ll need to score at least a 50% in your 4th marking period to get a 70% average grade.

For the math thing, if the quiz grade you get (if the fourth quarter grade is 90) and the quiz grade is above 100, then you can substitute the fourth quarter grade for any number above 90 but less than or equal to 100 so the average is greater than or equal to 89.6

For the S.S thing, the fourth quarter grade has to make the average at least a 89.6

Also, my grades for Social studies are: 97.6%, 89.3%, 85% What do I need to get for the last marking period?
