Hey everyone: I don't know about you guys, but I have three school days left. I want to wish all of you guys good luck. I'm a junior with trash grades in honors classes all on the borderline between D's and F's. I still have a 3.4 cumulative. I got a 1260 on the new sat. My dad is pissed and my mom is too. (I'm asian) Don't worry about grades. One day we'll be 90 and these hard moments will be ones that we can look upon and laugh about. It will be all okay, at least, if you don't major in women's studies in college.

What would I need to get on my final if I want an "A".
My overall grade right now is an 87.9. An A would mean having an 89.5 or above. BUT I have 3 points to add on one of my projects. My project grade (right now) is a 25/30 (83.33%), but it's going to change to 28/30 (93.33%). The other grades I have in this category (Labs) are 100%, 90%, 90%, 100%, 100%, 100%, 80%, 80%, and 100%, equalling 89.47% in that category (with the 25/30). This category is 25% of my overall grade. My other categories are: Classwork and Homework - 20% (89.05%), Quizzes - 10% (69.64%), and Exams - 30% (91.86%). What would my grade be after I got my 3 points and what I need on the Final (worth 15% of the grade). THANK YOU

So, if your current “project and labs” category average is a 89.47% (using your 25/30 project grade), then your project should be worth 38.6% of your “project and labs” category. Does that sound right? In that case, your 3 extra points should raise your “project and labs” category average by 3.86% to a 93.3%. (Conveniently, it doesn’t matter how much your project is worth in comparison to your labs, since you scored a 93.3% on each section.) With those 3 extra points, your overall grade should go up to a 89.02%. So you’ll need to score at least a 92.2% on your final exam to get a 89.5% overall.
