My current average in the class is 93.2%. After I got a quiz back and received a 100%, and my average went up to 93.5%. With that being said, my friend has a 95% before the quiz, and received a 75% on the quiz. What would his average drop to?

Roger: I can’t say for sure without knowing your current quiz averages (both yours and your friend’s) as well as how much quizzes are worth. But assuming that your averages are comparable, your friend’s grade should drop to a 94.1%.

I’ve had 3 quizzes I have 50% on all 3 and my first test I got a 53% based on these what would my grade right now in the class be?

Roger: It depends on how much your quizzes are worth in comparison to your test.

hey roger, in your opinion would you pursue a career of your passion that is unfortunately unstable, or follow a stem major where you get a paid a lot but unhappy?

Roger: Well, I started learning computer programming when I was 10, so I’m not sure I can really empathize. At the end of the day, all that matter is how content you are .. at the end of that day. Unfortunately, finances factor into that more heavily than it should (but also things like your health and your social life and your ambitions). You don’t get a high score at the end of life for living the right way. The whole game is just the stuff that happens day after day. It won’t suddenly start when you go to college or get a full-time job. Just like any other risky decision, I’d say take the chance if you have people who will love and support you even if it doesn’t work out (or if you don’t mind being a starving poet).

Assignments and quiz’s are worth 25% the marks I got for tests and quiz’s are: 100%, 100%, 80%, and 85%. Tests are worth 55% if my grade and my test mark is: 43%. What’s my overall grade so far?

Roger: I’ll assume you have a 20% “final exam” category. In that case, your overall grade should be a 58.1%.

I have an 82.645% in calculus right now, and this is made up of a 71%, 55%, and 97% on three quizzes, and an 88% on one test. I still have 2 more tests and 1 quiz left. Quizzes, collectively, are worth about 25% of the overall grade while tests, collectively, are worth about 75% of the overall grade. What would I need on the remaining tests and quizzes to end with at least an 89.5%? (There is no final exam).

Roger: Unlike most grading systems, it sounds like yours assigns each test/quiz its exact final weight (a third of 75% for tests and a quarter of 25% for quizzes), rather than scaling up your current test/quiz average to fill the entire weight of each category (otherwise, your current overall grade should be closer to a 84.5%). In that case, you’ll need to average at least a 94.8% on your remaining 2 tests and 1 quiz to raise your overall grade to a 89.5%. Good luck!

Hi I have a 2.5 gpa average in English. I want to raise it to a 3.5 gpa. I took a test (50% ) to day and I would like to know how much I would have to get on the test so I can raise my grade to a 3.5.
Thanks!

Roger: How many other tests have you taken so far? What did you score on them? And do you have any empty categories in your grade? (For example, a “participation” category that has no score yet.)

Hi. I have a 71.30% (306.74 out of 430.24) right now and I need to pass with 73%. I have online assignments that are 8.52 points in total, 100 points signature assignment, 30 points lab assignments, 3 10 points lab quizzes, 3 40points lecture quizzes, 100points lab final, and 150points lecture final. How many points should I get on each for me to get to 73%? Thank you.

Roger: You’ll need to average at least a 74.4% on your remaining exams/assignments to raise your overall grade to a 73.0%. Also, have you tried the calculator mode labeled “I need something else”? It should be able to answer your question.

i have an f 57.3% Can i get a 65% from my final which is worth 20%

Roger: Sure. If you score at least a 95.8% on your final exam, you should be able to raise your overall grade to a 65%.

Hey Roger my Spanish test is 60 points (not percent) and I have a 92.9 percent in that class. How much will it drop my grade if I absolutely fail that test? Also what would I need to maintain at least an A?

Roger: It depends on how many points you have total.

In my class this semester, I will have 3 tests plus one final. Each test is worth 20% of my grade and the final will be worth 40% of my grade to make a total of 100%. On my first test I made a 68. In order to pass the class I must make a least a 78 overall. What would I need to make on the other tests/final in order to make a 78? What is the formula to calculate what I would have to make?

Roger: You’ll need to average at least a 80.5% on your 2 remaining tests and final exam to get a 78% overall. You can calculate this yourself by computing (78%−68%×20%)/80%.

Hi there.
My son got his progress report and had a B in science but that did not include his grade from his last test. He got an F on that test, so what would his grade be at now? He does have the chance to bring the test grade up to a D.

Roger: It depends on how much his last test was worth.

Roger: Your current grade is a 54.2%. You’ll need to score at least a 89.0% on your 6th test in order to raise your overall grade to a 60.0%. Hope this helps!

Ok, here's the thing. I just took a quiz in Chemistry. Quizzes are worth 70%, but the final is 10%(we haven't taken this one). The other 20% are for random stuff. I just took a quiz today, and my current overall grade is 100%. How much do I need to get on my quiz to not have an overall grade below 95%?

Roger: If you’ve only taken one quiz so far, then you’ll need to score at least a 90.0% on your 2nd quiz to keep your overall grade above a 95% (assuming your “random stuff” category is currently empty).

I have a 66.66 % a 70 and a 72 and the rest are 100's(7 100%). What do you think my average would be for now?

Roger: Well, assuming each score is worth one-tenth of your total grade, your current average should be 90.87%.

So my grade is a 79% which is a c and I want at least a Middle B like an 85% I just scored a 73% on my test what does that do to my grade

Roger: Well, the exact answer depends on your current test average. But scoring 73% on a test will most likely lower your grade. How much are your tests worth? How many have you taken so far? What’s your current test average? And do you have any empty categories in your grade? (Like a “final exam” category that has no score yet?)

My current English grade is a 98, the test is worth 6%, there are 16 points in the test. What's the minimum score I could get to still have at least an A? Thank you!

Roger: It depends on how much of your coursework you’ve completed so far. For example, if your “98%” overall grade represents 24% of your total coursework, then you’ll need to score at least a 58.0% (9.28/16) on your test to get a 90.0% overall.

If I get a
D for logic quizzes which is 1/4 of our final grade
C for logic quizzes from chapters which is 1/4 of our final grade
C on the midterm which is 1/4 of our final grade
B on the final which is 1/4 of our final grade

What would be my overal grade? And what would I honestly need to get on the final to get a C in the class?

Roger: Your overall grade should be approximately a C, depending on your exact percentage score in each of those categories. Does that answer your question?

i have a 76 in my class i have two assignments worth 7% and 2% if i get 100% on both what will my grade be

Roger: It depends on how much of your coursework you’ve completed so far. For example, if your “76%” overall grade represents 45% of your coursework, then scoring 100% on those two assignments should raise your grade to a 80.0%.

Hello, I am currently in college and have worked extremely hard to manage an 88.50% grade in my government class. Since I am on a quarter system, my finals are this week. I have to submit a policy paper tomorrow that is with 15% of my grade. With that being said, what do I need to make in order to maintain a B average. Thank you so much!

Roger: Assuming that your policy paper is the only thing remaining in your grade, you’ll need to score at least a 31.8% on it to get a 80% overall.

If my exam is worth 16.67% of my overall grade and I got a 78 on it, assuming that I ace everything else, can I still pass the class with an A?

Roger: Is your exam the only thing in your grade so far? If so, you’ll need to average at least a 92.4% on the rest of your class to raise your overall grade to a 90.0%.

I have a 77.6 in science and i have homework that is worth 10% of my grade if i get 100% on my homework what will my grade be for my 6 weeks??

Projects:50%
Homework:10%
Tests/Quizzes:30%

Roger: Assuming that your “77.6%” overall grade represents only your “Projects” and “Tests/Quizzes” category, your 100% homework grade should raise your overall grade to a 80.1% (I assume you have a 10% “Final Exam” category?).
