Roger: It depends on how many exams and “in class assignments” you’ve completed so far, as well as what you scored on them. Also, is each of your exams and “in class assignments” worth an equal fraction of their respective categories?

Roger: It sounds like your final and midterm share a category (”exams”) that’s worth 50% of your grade. It’s possible that your midterm and final are each worth 25% of your overall grade, but that’s not necessarily true. You’ll need to ask your instructor whether your midterm and final are each worth half of the 50% category.

Hello! I have all As in my classes, but I want to raise my geometry grade from a 93 to a 95, at least. I have a 100% in homework grades, counting as 40% and an 87.67 average in major grades, that go into a category worth 60%. I got a test back today that I got a 94 on, and it's being put into the major grades category. What will by grade be once my teacher puts it into the grade book? If not a 95, what grade will I have to get on the next test to get there?

I need help. I have 3 tests to take before the end of the quarter that are worth 70% of my grade. Each calculator I have used is saying something different!!! On my first test I scored a 44/50 or 88%, on my second I scored a 102/100 or 102%. I have to take my final test of the quarter in two days, this Thursday, what do I need to get on it to get an A! My current grade, with both test I have taken included, is a 98%. HELP PLEASE

If you want to keep your overall grade above a 90.0%, then you’ll need to make sure your test average drops no lower than a 83.6% (assuming the remaining 30% of your grade remains unchanged). If each of your 3 tests is worth a third of your “tests” category, then you’ll need to score at least a 60.7% on it to get an A.

I got an 82 currently and my lowest test grade is dropped. I've taken 10 tests, they count 50% of my grade and all my tests combined get 77. But my lowest test is a 25 because the teacher never gave me the last page of the test. Now I just want to know what I want on my final to get an 86 for the semester. Hi Roger! My midterm coming up is split across two categories; Chapter Tests and Free Response Questions. Chapter Tests are weighted 35 percent and FRQs 25 percent. I have an 85.15%(298.05 points) in Chapter Tests out of a total of 350 points. I have a straight 90(27 points) percent in FRQs out of a total of 30 points. There are approximately 100 points possible to earn in the chapter tests category and 20 points in the SAQ category. My grade in the class in an 89.30, and an 87.5 is minimum for an A in the class. What is the minimum I need to get an A?

Chapter Tests(35%): 298.05/350
FRQ(25%): 27/30
Classwork(35%): 430/460
Quizzes(5%): 68.36/80
Total (100%): 89.30%

So I did really bad on my mid term. I got 34%. Which was worth 25% of my overall grade. I have no other marks back yet. But I was wodering what grades I should aim for if I want a 65 in the class. The reading responce is worth 15 %. The course paper is worth 25%. The final exam is 35 %. I am really stressed out. Could you give me a senario where I could come out with a 65. I dont test well.

Roger: Two steps: (1) figure out why you’re not scoring 100% on every assignment and exam, (2) work on those issues until you consistently score 100%. Reviewing past exams (either your own or exams from previous terms) is a great place to start. Given the same curriculum, there are only so many questions that can be asked.

To have chosen to become a member of a prestigious high school is probably the worst mistake of my life; never before have I fallen so far below to the point of choking on my own tears as I hold a knife up to my dog's heart, wishing I had only stayed in a regular high school, one in which I could have had all A's and have the ability to enrol and be accepted into any college. But no, I had to enter the hardest school nearby, and I had to accept their invitation. Stacks upon stacks upon stacks of thesis statements; a whole ocean of quizzes and tests; a deadly amount of 0s radiated. Whether I live through this or die mentally is obvious: I shall die.

For example, if your “96%” overall grade represents 40% of all the categories in your grade, then your overall grade should drop to a 85.3%. But if your “96%” overall grade represents 80% of all the categories in your grade, then your overall grade should drop to a 89.6%.

I currently have a 60.19 in a class. I scored a 61.25 on my first and second test. I scored a 48.44 on my third test and still have two more tests to take. The tests are worth 50 percent of my grade. My lab average which is 35 percent of my grade is 57.14 currently. I have a 62 average for my quizzes which is 10 percent and my homework has a average of 93 which is 5 percent. Is it possible for me to get a 70? And if so what scores would I have to have on the next two tests.
