I currently have an 80% for semester 1, but would like to get it up to at least a 90% by the end of the year, so what percentage do I need to get for semester 2 in order to do this?

In case that’s impossible, I also have a midterm coming up that’s worth 20% of my semester 1 grade. So if the previous number was over 100, what semester 1 grade do I need to have to get it up by the end of the year?

Roger: Assuming each semester is worth half of your overall grade, you’ll need to score at least 100.0% on your 2nd semester to raise your overall grade to a 90.0%. Alternatively, if you average at least a 96.7% on your midterm and your 2nd semester, you’ll be able to raise your overall grade to a 90.0%. Hope this helps.

Our only hope comes from the people who have already taken this course with this professor. They say that the curve ends up being so low on the final, that people end up with As and Bs as their final grade anyway. #prayforlowgrades

(e.g. 52/75) If so, you’ll need to score at least a −313.1% (yes, that’s negative) on the 2nd part of your final to get a 70.0% overall. In response to 5 APs are KILLING ME, you would need to score 296 "points" between your last three quizzes to reach an A (86). In other words, you need about a 98.7% average on each quiz. This is assuming that the final counts as a normal quiz when added as extra credit. If the final DOES NOT count as a normal quiz when added as extra credit, please specify what it does count as

we have taken 7 quizzes so far
75, 68, 85, 80, 100, 60(worth double points), 50 (worth double points)
still have 3 quizzes coming up all worth equal amounts (single points)
1 of the 3 is our final which counts as extra credit
i have a 100% in classwork
classwork is worth 30%
what does my quiz average need to be for the 3 quizzes coming up? and the "final"? i need an 86% for an A and i currently have a 78.8 (B-). Thanks so much.

Roger: I’m not exactly sure what you mean when you say that your final counts as extra credit. I’ll assume that means one-eleventh of your final quiz score is added to your quiz average (eleven, because you have 9 other quizzes and two of them are worth double the points). In that case, you’ll need to average at least an 84.0% on your remaining 3 quizzes to raise your overall grade to a 86.0%. Good luck!
