hey roger. i used the website to see my final grade for one of my classes and it said that if i got a 52.38% on the test, and i previously had a 100%, my grade would go down to an 83%. In math, i currently have a 100% average in skill development which is 20% of my grade and work habit which is 15% of my grade. I took the test and got a 52.38% and my grade dropped to a 76%, not a 83%. I recently took a test in algebra and dont think i did so well either. I believe that the test is out of 58. I only got about 23 done. What would my approximate score be? FYI- it is 35/30% of my grade and i currently have a 100% average in skill development/work habit in algebra as well. i'd really appreciate it if u would reply ASAP! i am extremely worried about my grade and so hopefully u can help. thanks! - emillie

Roger: Is your “tests” category only worth 36% of your grade? (I’m guessing, based on your current grade of 76%.) Since 20% (skill development), 15% (work habit), and 36% (tests) only add up to 71%, you’ll need to account for the remaining 29% when calculating your grade. Percentages are ratios of 100, so if your categories only add up to 71%, then they aren’t really percentages. In any case, if your math class uses the same categories (and if we assume that you’ll score exactly 23/58 on your test), then your overall grade should drop to a 53% - 55% (the exact number depends on how much tests are worth as a percentage of your math grade). Hope this helps! (Also, I’m confused why you have both a “math” class and an “algebra” class.)

Hey Roger, Im the guy that you said not to keep my parents involved, in I try not to but they have this thing called parent portal where they can see my grades and stuffff. But anyways now Im super screwed, I have a 78 in one of my important classes, and I need to get that back up to an 93 or above or else im dead, I will have about 40-45 worth 15, and only 16 have been assigned, and I have a 92 in Homework.... in this class I have 3-4 tests worth 75% (I have taken none so far) Labs in this class are also 15% (BUT THIS IS WHERE I SCREWED UP) I have A 63.93 IN THAT SECTION because i got a 90 on one lab and A 50 on another, so how much do I have to get on my tests in order to get a 93.
