I took a test today that was worth 50 points and there are 130 total points in the grade book but I have 121 out of 130. How much will I need to get in my test today to get atleast a B- or more. Roger: If you have a 121 out of 130, then how can your overall grade be a 77%? Since 121 divided by 130 is 0.9307, your overall grade should be 93.07%. Anyway, 130 + 50 is 180, and if you want your grade to be 80% of 180, then that’s 144 points. If you currently have 121 points, then you’ll need 23 more points (so, 23/50) to get to 144. Hope this helps!

For example, if your “58” represents 70% of your total coursework, then you’ll need to score either a 238%, 154%, 313%, or 194% on your midterm, depending on whether you want a 70% or 75% and whether your midterm is worth 5% or 10% of your grade.
