My 5 exams are worth 60% of my grade. The final is 20%. If I have a 77, 81, 84, 92, 93 on the tests, what is the average i need to score on the final (150pts) to earn a course grade of 88%?

By the way, the lowest test score is dropped whereas homework is worth 20% which consisted of 5 assignments which I got 100% on four of them and a 67% on one.

Roger: Your current overall grade (after discarding your lowest test grade) is 89.2%. You’ll need to score at least a 85.4% on your final to get a 88% overall.

Hi Roger. Question about quizlet:
So I started using quizlet 3 years ago and I have too many sets in quizlet (over 100). I don't want to delete any of them but it's just too messy because I have too many sets in each file.
Is there any way to have like sub files where I can put each file and grade separate?

Roger: Check out this help article.

thank you

My total for class as far as points go says i have a score of 198.75/300 which totals to 66.25%; However, my "weighted" total says i have a 52.5284%? how is this possible and how is this determined/calculated?

Roger: Maybe some of your points are worth more than others?

It's midnight, I'm tired as hell, and in order to pass this class I need a 56.48% on my Calculus I final tomorrow and I'm not even sure if that's plausible. It's not even multiple choice. Don't go to college, kids.

I currently have a 96.73% and have completed 70% of course.
I have two major papers left to be graded.
Each is worth 15% of the grade for a total of 30%.

I want to get a minimum of 90% in the course.
What is the lowest grade I can get on each of the remaining papers to not go below the 90% final?

Roger: You’ll need to average at least a 74.3% on your two papers to get a 90% overall.

Hey y'all I don't know if you saw my comment last year about chem, but that's far beyond me. Now, I'm taking US history. Hooray. It's so boring learning about it for 5 hours a day and thank god tomorrow is finals. I need a 67% to keep my B in the class so I'm doing a lot better. Hope I don't get lower than that and as long as I do well on my research project I should be good to go

I am not sure how to calculate my grade when I have to manually drop my lowest test grade that will be replace with the final test grade (if higher.) I am trying to figure out what I would need to make on my final to pass the class at least with a 70 (C) or higher.

Grade calculations:
Group Project 5%
Homework/Group work 10%
Pre-lecture assignments 5%
Lecture Exams 40%
Lab Average 25%
Final Exam 15%

My grades:
Group Project: 97
Homework/ Group work: 93.09
Pre-lecture assignments: 97.92
Test 1: 51
Test 2: 50
Test 3: 87.5
Test 4: 57
Lab Average: 64.6

I want to know what I need to make on my final to replace my lowest test grade (50) and to pass with a 70 or higher.

Roger: You’ll need to score at least a 61.0% on your final to get a 70% overall. Also, you can use the calculator mode labeled “I need something else” to answer questions like these. Give it a try!

I have a 87.24 exam average in my class (610.70/700.00) which is 80% of my grade.
I have a 78.85 for assignments which is 5%
I have a 91.77 for hesi which is 5%
My overall class grade is 87.03

Our final is 10% of our grade. What can I make on the final and pass the class with a exam grade of 77 and a over all grade of 77?

Roger: You’ll need to score at least a −13.2% on your final to get a 77% overall. You also mentioned that you need an exam grade of 77%. Are you referring to your exam average? Isn’t that already higher than a 77%, based on your numbers?

Hi
My grades are weighted.

Homework = 20% and my grade for that is 88.33%
Project= 10% and my grade is 100%
quizzes = 10% and my grade is 83.50%
Midterm= 30% and i have a 40% ( didnt do so hot)
My final is 30% coming up. Is it possible to pass this course with a 70?? What will i need on the exam? Thanks in advance

Roger: Your current overall grade should be a 68.6%. You’ll need to score at least a 73.3% on your final to raise your overall grade to a 70%.

my daughter has a 92.3 in math for the semester. she needs to end with a 90. the semester has four units, equally weighted. on the last unit she has two items left. one is 10% of the unit and the other is 20% of the unit. what grade does she need in these two items to get a 90%

Roger: It depends on your current unit grade. Try out the calculator mode labeled “I need something else”. It may be able to help.

In the “I need something else category” I know you have a section for the final replacing the lowest “test” scores but it then asks how many of the lowest ones will be dropped. What amount is appropriate to input if the final only replaces the lowest scores when the final percentage is higher than the individual test scores. For example say you have 8 total tests that make up 60% of your grade. You’ve completed 6 of the 8 with an average of 88.67 (100, 90, 100, 80, 86, 76). What should be input for the number of lowest quizzes dropped assuming the average test score is maintained for the next 2 tests?

Roger: It’s not ideal, but the calculator forces you to pick how many test scores you expect to replace with your final score. This isn’t a limitation of the math, but a limitation in the way that the calculator is implemented. You can try a few different values and see what answers you get.
